Which is your favourite soap opening titles?
My favourite is doctors current opening titles! I think the way they are talking on the shots is very clever and is making you the viewer want to watch the episode and makes you care about the characters IMO!
What is everybody else's favourite soap opening titles ever? |

Knots Landing, the US soaps back in the day had the best opening sequences.

I'd say currently Emmerdale and Neighbours have the best openings. |

The mid-nineties Home and Away titles were great fun. In fact all of them up until the horrible blue background were good. My favourite version of the theme tune is the Doug Williams and Erana Clark one.

Brookside for me is everything about my childhood, that and the old Fair City theme from the 90s bring back so many good memories.
Even though ED is my favourite soap I don't like the titles, I think they're cheap looking. Of the current soaps I'd probably say eastenders because it's never really changed, its traditional to the soap and I really like that

Eastenders jazzy theme.
I like how hollyoaks' shows the main cast too. I can see why the other soaps don't though with all the comings and goings. In conclusion: Music: 1993 eastenders jazzy theme Visuals: hollyoaks character clips |

I would say EastEnders, as they don't mess about with it and tamper with it too much and it is the most iconic.
I used to like Emmerdale's up to 2011, until they butchered it with the current titles and music, which is now the worst out of the big 3. The theme tune is awful and it just seems cheap and nasty. |

I used to love the opening sequences of all the big American family saga soaps in the 1980s -Falcon Crest, Dallas and Dynasty.
Loved the dramatic feel of the music setting the scene for camp high stakes melodrama and the style of the credits themselves giving each major cast member an individual nod. Especially liked it on the early Dallas were they split the screen into 3 with different views of each cast member when in character. |

Knots Landing moving pictures rolling across the screen which we had from Seasons 3 to 8. The fantastic music helped too.
Dallas' were great too with those above shots of the ranch, oil fields, sky scrapers and Dallas Cowboys stadium. Plus again, great music. British shows. The original Casualty credits with the slightly out of focus, point of view of the Patient being taken from the ambulance to the Resus bay. I do also like Holby City's though would prefer they get rid of the characters on it, and just go back to the shots of surgical equipment being in the foreground. EastEnders - simple but clever and iconic and i love it when they twist it like having the night shoot in the 30th anniversary week. I did quite like Howards Way too. |
