If the rumours are true and Hope does die on Xmas Day I think it would be interesting to see how they go with Fiz and Ruby.

Will she start to resent the little girl? She would not be human if there was not a tiny part of her that would wish it was Ruby and not Hope.

Interesting to explore - especially as Ruby grows and starts wearing Hopes hand-me-downs.

Perhaps Fiz will become the wicked stepmother?

Oh joy! The death of a child on Christmas Day...

Is this Blackburn's final Merry Christmas and Happy New Year gift to CS fans?

A very sick toddler dying on christmas day would be awful to watch, I sincerely hope CS do NOT go down that route.

I'd genuinely be shocked if Corrie does this on Christmas Day.

The show has a long tradition of avoiding deaths on Christmas Day and its surrounding days. Any deaths that have happened in the festive period have been before or after Christmas, either at the beginning of December or early January.

I'd be genuinely shocked if Corrie did go for this as their Christmas story as it's very out of character for the show. Christmas Day has always been about light stories, mixed with some general family dysfunction and a birth or marriage.

I haven't heard any such rumour either. Probs just DS and Tw*tter speculating as usual until it turns into Chinese Whispers and will no doubt shortly become 'fact'.

They could decide that they couldn't bear to live on the Street any longer, and they were moving to Australia. Luckily, there are cancellation on the airline, so they disappear two days later.

Otherwise, I think we'd all be in for a miserable Xmas, New Year, January, February ........

That's all they are, rumours.

Hope survived as a premature baby so I doubt they will kill her off. It is rare (if done at all) for a soap to kill a child at that age.

It categorically will not happen on Christmas day. They will not air anything so harrowing that would need a warning on a day when families are sitting down to watch together more than any other day. It will never happen on Christmas day.

It's to showcase the brilliant acting of the person playing Fizz.

Hmm, I can't think of any soap children that have been killed off.
There might have been the odd stillbirth or cot death storyline but it seems almost taboo to off a soap child.
Having said that, Brookside in their day managed to kill off the Farnham children, Ron's son and had a child murder another child!

In EE, Ronnie's baby died from cot death. Hope dying from cancer is no more taboo than that.

Zoe lost her baby in Corrie through cot death

And Billy in Corrie died... Sarah's baby

I know to much from reliable sources to dismiss this therefore not convinced won't happen. The writers needs to be brave enough.

Pity Emmerdale weren't brave enough and allowed Sarah to live - twice.
