The acts will sing a song that best represents them and their style of music according to the Radio Times. Theme is called 'This Is Me'

Oh this sounds interesting!!

It sounds more like it'll be "This is who I wanna be, but probably never will be"

Better than normal though, should get some interesting song choices.

Does that mean that every subsequent week they'll be singing songs that don't fit them and don't represent them?

Thanks for the heads up, show!

interesting theme if true usually they go with a pretty wide generic theme in week 1 (like No.1s) and allow the contestants to just have fun

Hopefully we will have a real mix bag of songs - would love it if it was some that we haven't heard yet and maybe some current.

I'm hoping its not Whitney and Mariah tracks, they have been done to death and no one can really do them justice - except Leona shes the only one who comes close to being able to hit the notes.

I actually quite like this theme.

Then it will be onto the Elton john week the following weekend.

I'm shocked it's not a Halloween theme seeing as the show's on October 31st. Perhaps they've decided to give the contestants a few weeks before they make them look ridiculous although Alien Unconvincing have a head start there.

They have no excuses then if this is the theme. This opens the contestants up to sing whatever they want and show what kind of artist they would be. They can sing anything. Anyone who messes this up shouldn't be there. No stupid themes restricting them. No constraints.

Well, I'll reserve judgement until I've seen the song choices.

No doubt there will be a Whitney Houston song thrown in there for good measure. Thought you'd managed to avoid hearing someone sing I Have Nothing this year? Don't be too sure just yet.

Great theme. Every act should get to perform a song which suits them, which will make for a really good show with plenty of great performances

I wonder if they still have song lists to pick from though or be given free rein to choose anything?

Good! I prefer these open themes.

Really like this idea. Something useful for the contestants. 👍
Halloween is fun but it doesnt really give them much as artists.

*gasps*

But what about all those Elton John/Take That/Beatles/Whitey Houston classics we haven't heard yet this series? It's already late October and time is running out!

Followed by Whitney Week. "yawns".

What's the betting on Bupsi singing Tina Turner's version of Proud Mary? One of those songs XF insist of featuring as often as possible.

I'm guessing it will be the former.

An interesting theme though.
