I would recommend Virgin, easyMobile or T-Mobile because Virgin and easyMobile are cheap and T-Mobile has good coverage.

Wouldnt Easy mobile, Virgin and T- Mobile all have good coverage? As they all use the T-mobile network?

who an earth voted for o2! are u all mad i would say they are by far the worst (apart from 3 mobile)

I would definetly say vodafone is the best network by far, there network coverage is by far the best all the other networks have no signal in my house! and there customer service is top notch too.

I agree with you who could have voted O2 and i also agree that vodafone is good coverage but I can only get pay as you talk so its quite expensive on vodafone for me.

Makes you wonder! Everybody has been slagging o2 off, but they still join them.

Baffles me!

I voted O2 for a start

I was with orange for years but their coverage was not the greatest and they charged a fortune to upgrade.

Not to mention the few times i had to ring up CS on orange they did not help at all in fact once they were downright rude

so i switched to o2 and voila coverage is fantastic i got my phone and upgrades etc etc free and my bills have actually gone down because i got a better tariff.

So i would count myself a happy o2 customer

Orange.

- Good Customer Services
- Good Coverage (3g looks good too)
- Orange Wednesdays (2 for 1 on Cinema Tickets)
- Customer Services FREE to speak too (02 charge! )
- Line 2 (No other network has this)
- Orange Care (very good insurance)
- Orange Performance Promise
- Orange will match most other tarrifs
- Text Messages work out at less than 1p each on 3000 Text Tarriff (For those heavy texters)
- Decent wap portal

What more do you want?

Can't say I've had problems with O2 on a grand scale. Last years their GPRS went down a couple of nights and WAP could only be accessed by CSD, but I've seen both Vodafone and Orange have the occasional glitch as well (an Orange BTS locally went down for over 18 hours here recently). T-Mobile's coverage in Northern Ireland is a running joke. There is one place I know where they have coverage where none of the other networks have, but apart from that rural coverage especially is thin on the ground and even in urban areas it is patchy in quite a few places.

Can't comment on 3, but it seems to be slowly expanding its coverage, but it'll take some time before it achieves the same coverage as the GSM networks.

You know 3 piggy back o2 on 2g,does this mean where o2 works, 3 should? Hence 3 has the same network coverage as o2?

3's "voice and messaging" network is effectively the same as that of O2, as it uses O2 where 3 don't cover! 3's own base stations have nowhere near the coverage of that of any GSM network at the moment, although in most urban area there shouldn't be much difference.

People on theses threads moan about his going down that going down. All the networks will go down for a short while from time to time.I mean they are only run by humans who set them up and program them.
