Expecting a Shock Dance-Off This Week...

Could be in for a shock Dance-Off this week. In Series 10 and 11, one of the best dancers ended up in the dance-off. Last year, it was Week 7; so, this week or next week could see one of the Big Six in the Bottom Two.

In Series 10, Kimberley and Pasha were joint 2nd on the leaderboard and danced off against Fern and Artem who were 9th.

In Series 11, Abbey and Aljaz were also joint 2nd and danced off against Rachel and Pasha who were 7th.

Last year, it was Week 7 when Caroline and Pasha were joint 4th and danced off against Alison and Aljaz who were joint 8th.

It should be noted, however, that all three shock dance-off couples went on to reach their respective Finals, two of them won and the other were runners-up, so it won't be the end of the world for whoever finds themselves in a shock dance-off.

with the exception of Jeremy and Carol the rest are all good dancers so if Jeremy and Carol BOTH survive this week then yes, there will be a shock elimination!

Agree, Excellent observations.

I think you may be right but I can't see any of the best dancers going home as it's highly likely the other dancer in the bottom two will be one of Jamelia or Kirsty IMO.

Jamelia is on borrowed time

If she can't cling to Brendan, so is Kirsty. The pair of them have had a series of dodgy dances and one decent/good one. Kirsty looks pretty terrible out of hold and Jamelia looks iffy in it. Both have been in the bottom two. Neither would be a shock (or anything like one) if they went.

I think there might be a shock couple IN the bottom 2 this week but with either Kirsty or Jamelia so it wont be a shocker of an exit

sadly I think we may keep Carol and Jeremy - I actually dont mind Jeremy but I find Carol an utter bore

I have to agree with you on that, I'm afraid. Carol's a nice lady, but very bland.

There's an interview with Aljaz where he says he's always been in the b2 for Halloween. So here's hoping it will be third time lucky for him, as I think it would knock Helen's confidence badly, even if she'd be saved against almost everyone.

Presumably - we'll know soon - Kirsty and Carol will both have latin dances, which have been tougher for them in the past. So it's possible they'll be the b2 - I think Carol fans will start feeling she's done enough soon, as long as the judges aren't mean to her.

I think Halloween is a very random one for the vote because I think most of us are hugely influenced by the costume and make-up - if you hate the make-up and/or song it's very hard to see past that. Georgia might be in trouble, that song doesn't have a good track record, but I think she's probably quite popular.

It's nearly halfway through the series, so yes, OP is right, it's around the time for shock elimination week.

It depends very much on the leaderboard and whether the voters are tiring of Carol and/or Jeremy yet. I'd agree that Carol is probably the one who will pall first (although she does have Pasha) but whether people have quite had enough yet is another matter. I think Jeremy is safe for at least a week or two yet.

I don't think either Jamelia or Kirsty have the support to take them above any of the top six by votes alone so they would have to rely on one of the couples above them to have a duff week and for them to have a good one. And by good, I mean a couple of places better off - i.e. a Jamelia Charleston might be enough but I don't think a Kirsty VW would.

Unless the leaderboard throws up a shock, I see the bottom two being any 2 of Carol, Kirsty and Jamelia. I don't see a Kim/Abbey plummet or even a Caroline one from this bunch this early.

I would guess next week, not this one. Stranger things have happened at Hallowe'en (ie Michelle Williams redemptive TIME WARP) but I don't see Kirsty, Jamelia and Carol all escaping the knife.

2012 was a very uncontroversial series - the only 'controversial'/shock thing that happened all series was Kimberley being in the dance-off. In 2011 the only 'controversy' was Nancy staying over one or two pieces of cannon fodder. There's no reason to think we can't go through a series without everyone leaving in the correct order.

I don't foresee any 'surprises' here. Jeremy and Carol are clearly the worst, and Jamelia and Kirsty only a short rung above them because they're younger. They aren't really very well coordinated or infected by dance. I don't know if any of those four really benefit from staying in a few weeks more. They're duffer than plum puddings.

I am expecting a shock dance off unfortunately too.

I really think either Carol or Jeremy should go this week but I doubt it.

I predict Kirsty and or Jamelia to be in the bottom 2 with somebody else.

Not a shock elimination, just a shock couple in the Bottom Two, Kimberley, Abbey & Caroline were all high up the leaderboard and danced off against a weaker dancer low down/mid-table. Expect someone 2nd/3rd or 4th to be in the Bottom Two, saved by the judges, who then go on to reach the Final, it happened with Kimberley, Abbey and Caroline.

Yep.

Can we swap Jeremy for that Andre person? Andre or Carol to go please.

Andre's leaving this weekend would be a dream come true.

Considering the song/dance combination that Carol has this week, I'd be shocked if she wasn't in the dance off.

A shock would be a B2 appearance from anyone other than Carol, Jeremy, Jamilia or Kirsty.

My mistake, I worded wrongly. It's a shock bottom two not a shock elimination. Because God forbid a shock bottom two AND a shock elimination. The gates of hell will be opened and this forum is very likely to implode.

I think it might be game over for Carol this week. And it might be for Jeremy next week. Out of the two of them, I can see Carol going first.

Kirsty was due a latin and the one I think she's most likely to be decent at is the Charleston. And if she can let go, which is a big if, I think she might end up doing near what she did last week. I LOVE their music.

I don't quite know if she'll avoid the dance off even if she does do well, but I doubt she'll go. I think she's got more public support than Jamelia and if she ends up being say, a spot below Jamelia on the leaderboard, then Jamelia might be the one that ends up in the DO again.

I don't think it'll be a shock elimination - Carol vs Jamelia/Kirsty, with Carol to go.

But I think we'll get a shock DO appearance from a contender next week.

I can't see Carole surviving a Rumba.
