When you think that the top 8 positions are up for grabs this week, with just 3 celebs struggling below that, it's easy to see that anyone who ends up at the lower end of that top 8 is going to be at risk. If Jamelia gets up that leader board she puts others in trouble.

Why does everyone think Jamelia will be rubbish at Jive?

I think it'll be a great dance for her. She had great rhythm and timing in the Charleston.

I can see her out scoring Carole, Jeremy, Kirsty and at least one of the others.

Katie's got Paso doble, going on her Latin track record (aside from jive) I would think she will be lucky to avoid the bottom 2!

Sense of humour a bit random today, but this got me thinking about death by Rumba.
I will get smacked for posting my more bizarre ideas so I leave it to your imagination.

Out of curiosity, who do you all think would survive in case we have Jamelia X Kirsty in the dance off?

I always thought it was no coincidence that Abbey was in the D/O when Liverpool were playing Live on a Saturday late game.

Are there any couples with regional support that might be affected ??
Is anything on at the same time as Strictly voting period that might distract voters (Rugby World Cup ?)

Kimberley was in the dance off the week she was promoting her solo album in her intro video - which probably upset the Girls Aloud fans so they sulked.

I would think the ones on borrowed time this week are....Carol...Kirsty...Jamelia and Jeremy...though I think Jeremy is'nt going anywhere.

Lovely pic of Helen and Aljaz rehearsing - https://instagram.com/p/9Yp0LzJmCH/ It made me think that hopefully Helen will be able to play a character for this one, which I think is better for her - I think her Monroe dance is her best so far. So I'm less worried about this now!

Despite being no great fan of Anton, I've found a few of his pasos to be ok - the one with Laila wasn't bad, and I even liked his one with Kate Garroway (or should I post that in the unpopular opinions thread? )

Peter and georgia have pretty big fanbases, georgia has the coronation street fans rooting for her, same as Peter has his individual fans voting for him. Unlikely that the public perception will change.

With those two I think it would literally come down to who performed the best in the dance off. I suppose it should always be like that but last week for example you knew the judges would save Jamelia regardless as she was simply the better dancer, but her and Kirsty have the potential to be much more evenly matched.

I don't see two of the able dancers being in the bottom two and I think it's a bit early for Peter to end up there. Georgia maybe, but she would almost definitely go through against either Carol, Jeremy, Jamelia or Kirsty.

Just had a look at www.oddschecker.com and it looks like a lot of money is being put on carol to go, kirstys odds on the other hand are drifting of going by this evidence alone, here you go folks:

http://www.oddschecker.com/tv/strict...xt-elimination

So carol is getting more and more likely to be toast by Sunday.

me too...and they always give a 'bump' to anyone who has survived the DO UNLESS they are useless, and jamelia isn't.
Also depends how many 'ties' there are...if there are a few it makes it easy for the likes of jezza to get out of the bottom 2...!

Depends on their fan base sizes really, that's detriment to whether their kept on or not, I think he's pulling our leg on this.

Not at all Dancingbearbear, hoping for Katie's sake Anton will go for an ok paso, but in combination with the Halloween theme I just can't see him making a serious effort!

In Series 10, Kimberley and Pasha were joint 2nd on the leaderboard and danced off against Fern and Artem who were 9th.

In Series 11, Abbey and Aljaz were also joint 2nd and danced off against Rachel and Pasha who were 7th.

Last year, it was Week 7 when Caroline and Pasha were joint 4th and danced off against Alison and Aljaz who were joint 8th.

It should be noted, however, that all three shock dance-off couples went on to reach their respective Finals, two of them won and the other were runners-up, so it won't be the end of the world for whoever finds themselves in a shock dance-off.

Slayer2012”

I think Jeremy may have enough support to get him through this week, but I think if Kirsty is not in the dance off, Carol or Jamelia will be. There is a chance that a good dancer may be in the dance off, but not much chance of a good dancer going home.

Paso Doble is worlds apart from Cha-Cha or Salsa; closer to Tango if anything, and ballet training will help, as the Paso's an odd mixture of elegant and passionate, which seems to be well within Katie's remit.

As long as Anton doesn't go comedy Latin again (...please), I'd expect 28/40 minimum, with the capacity for a Crazy Bruno 9 if they nail the performance.
