Is the wench pregnant?

I mean, she told Sinead she wasn't, but do we know that? Or it was a false negative test.

I think she is but is hiding it from everyone. Would explain her ratty behaviour. I don't think she'd feel as guilty as she does if she wasn't pregnant.

And maybe it will all lead to Jason's exit?

It would be panic rather than guilt if she were pregnant. Also, they'd be signs, her vomiting or having odd cravings by now.

She feels guilty because she has betrayed not only her fiancee (who has been waiting for sex due to her beliefs) but her family and her religion, not only with the sex but drinking.

That does actually matter to people.

She also is worried that Jason will say something as losing her virginity like that was a big deal for her, and can't understand that it was nothing to him and he'd just forget about it.

We were told she wasn't pregnant on screen, there is no real reason to disbelieve it.

If she was concerned enough to take a test after only a couple of weeks, i'm sure she would have taken another one if she still hadn't had a period however many months it is later now. Plus, there would be other symptons by now.

They could get away with it with Faye because she is young enough for her periods to be very irregular and it was established she was virtually starving herself to stop putting on weight so thought stomach pains were to do with that.

Alya is a healthy woman in her early twenties so likely to be regular and wilst you can get false periods during pregnancy, they are usually a side effect of people still taking the Contraceptive Pill which Alya is unlikely to be on due to her not believing in sex before marriage.

Yep I was going to say she's having a baby Callum but we didn't see her sleep with him

If she isn't pregnant then the pregnancy test scenes were pointless. It really felt like they were building up to her being pregnant and facing a dilemma because of it.

I don't think the scenes were pointless. Not every scene has to be part of a long running storyline and i think it is perfectly believable that an intelligent young woman would be aware of the chance of falling pregnant after having sex without taking precautions. It was her first time, she felt sick, possibly a few days late so worried and took a test which proved negative.

As to why she was feeling sick, off her food, late period etc, she was stressed about losing her father and having betrayed her faith and boyfriend which can cause those symptons, just as pregnancy can.

Possible theory

Alya thought she was pregnant but then she did a test and found out she wasn't. However the test was wrong and she is really pregnant but she doesn't know she is pregnant because when she thought she was pregnant, she discovered she wasn't, even though she was.

So is Alya pregnant? Yes and no.

The scenes weren't pointless. The whole point was that it was a moment of realisation for Alya about what she was doing. She was going against her faith by drinking and having sex and this was the wake up call she needed.

I'm certain that there will be a surprise baby in few months. It is possible to be pregnant and not show.

It's also possible to cheat and not get pregnant, even in soapland!

Disappointed to see so many viewers have such fixed ideas about how storylines should go. And people complain about soaps being predictable.

Fine then. I think there will be a surprise baby in a few months. Also, just because I think something is going to happen in a storyline, it doesn't mean I want it to happen. If I said "I think I'm going to die", I'm hardly saying "I want to die!".

Sadly when the truth comes out we will have to put up with the Windass fishwife banging on about her precious son and his broken heart. Her precious son who cheated on the mother of his child and also tried to get off with Tina.

But, hey-ho these things are forgotten, Alya is the pariah

So will she give birth to Schrödinger's cat then?

I guess you'd rather have Anna shrug her shoulders and go "it's fine if you cheated on my son, after all he tried to kiss Tina two-years ago."

Because that wouldn't be ridiculous.
