Used to think she was ok but just read she got paid £300 to vote for the Conservative tax cuts that got vetoed by the Lords yesterday which would basically make the poor a lot poorer yet the chancellor lets big businesses get away with paying less tax than the average tax payer.

Along with Lloyd Webber and bosses of Carpetright, Dixons, Next, Cobra beer, JCB, Ultimo Bras,

They'll take all your money to line their own greasy pockets.

But it is about the Apprentice which she appears on, and she makes out she cares about people, I am just showing another side to her character and who she aligns herself with.

So when she is judging characters on The Apprentice you have a better idea of what her values are in making that choice.

Supporting a tax cut does not mean that she doesn't care about people.

Many, many things have been discussed concerning people who appear on the programme but not exactly the programme itself. The ethos of this forum is generally pretty open, we're not especially bothered about things going a little off-topic provided that they have some relation to the original subject.

Back onto the point of the post, utterly disgraceful. Like the original poster, I used to appreciate Karren Brady, but I have gone off her utterly in the last couple of years. This is the straw that breaks the camel's back.

if you understood just what they were proposing and what she was backing then you'd understand just how little compassion she has along with her self centered buddies.

Makes you realise what sort of person she is compared to the persona portrayed.

Wasn't meant that way but if that's how you want to take it then that's your problem.

I'm not sure if her voting here is spiteful or ignorant, but either way is not good.

or possibly greed, I vote for you, you give me the tax breaks.
I'd be interested to know just how much tax all these millionaires who voted for the tax credit cuts actually pay and what sort of tax deals their businesses get?

I agree with Damien.

Regardless of the 'ethos of the forum' bullcrap, this sub forum is for the discussion of the TV show not a forum for liberal leftie Tory bashers to try and start fights / condemn people for their political alignment.

May I redirect you to the Politics sub forum, where this post would fit in perfectly;

Can't say I've ever liked Brady but perhaps that's due to the Tottenham - West Ham Olympic Stadium debacle.

Even on the Apprentice I often find that she comes across as smug and above the show in her body language.

I don't think £300 makes any difference to her, to be fair. I call bogus story.

So in the same way, do you have any disputes about James, Katie and Luisa appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, the deaths of Stuart and Adenike or Nick presenting Countdown?

The forum quite commonly discusses things relating to the presenters or to candidates past and present which isn't strictly relevant to the programme itself. The vast majority of the time, these threads are accepted because they are relevant to people involved with The Apprentice. I would come to the same conclusion here. It is something that varies from forum to forum depending on how the dynamics work - last Christmas I even started a 'Merry Christmas' thread on here. I wasn't sure whether I should because it was completely irrelevant to The Apprentice, but I wanted to be nice to some like-minded friends, and those who responded got into the spirit of things and were pleasant and appreciative. If it really bothered many people obviously things like that wouldn't happen, but it seems that most of the people on this forum are quite open to the fact that conversations are allowed to digress, myself being one of them. I feel that we're quite an informal and welcoming community on the whole, and provided it doesn't happen so frequently that we completely miss the point of the forums, I think it's reasonable. If the majority of other posters have an issue (which it doesn't seem like they do, as more people have joined in the conversation than complained about it) then obviously the ethos changes a little with that, and people move with the times.

No hard feelings!

From day-one I disliked Karren Brady so her actions in the vote weren't truly a surprise - and I'm rather pleased that she didn't surprise me by voting differently. She's not the only one though - neither is Mr Inside-Out Face - there were lots of other celebrity peers who voted the same way - including that writer of unadulterated fiction - Julian Fellowes.

Would we expect anything different from them though? Especially the aforementioned Mr Inside-Out-Face?

This is why I said it's not a political forum. Just like carlisle156 said, she's being condemned for her political views. One could say left wingers only care about poor people? Her political views have no bearing on this show.

Maybe I'm just blinded by the arrogance of that response but I fail to see how the political alignment of Karren Brady is at all similar to a candidates death or a candidate going on CBB. If Lord Sugar was on another TV show would people be discussing it here, on in the suitable thread in the TV Shows UK sub forum? The majority would be the latter.

Also i think you can evidently see that it's not just 'me kicking up a fuss' as others also don't see the relevance or need for a thread such as this.

I expect a reply of you informing me of it being a free country and that you can post whatever political nonsense you want. Don't worry though, I'll keep an eye out for any 'Vote Corbyn' threads that may pop up if somebody related to The Apprentice mentions his name?

*insert "it's a free country and we can post whatever political nonsense we want" reply here*

In all seriousness though, yeah maybe this is best for the "Politics" section.
