I think they will bring Zoe back for the storyline about kat's son even if it means recasting the part. David would always be first on my list for any returnee, he makes the show unmissable!

I love the Cokers and the Hubbards. Have no problem with the Carters at times too.

I disagree. It's always great to have older characters back with new characters.
Why the Branning's haven't contacted Tanya about Cora, I do not know

Liam and Tiffany could return when they're older IMO. Give it a few years. It would be good to have two characters on the show directly related to the iconic Pat and Frank (Pat's their great grandma from Bianca's side, Frank's their grandad from Ricky's side). The girl who played Tiff was one of the best young actresses I've seen on EE. If Whitney is still around, there'd be a reason for them to be there. She is their adoptive sister and is very close to them and Bianca. And maybe Janine could return around that time.
Jean will definitely have another short run on EE as the key storyline is not over. Her last appearance in July pretty much set that up.

I would love Kim Medcalf back as Sam, along with Debbie Wilkins and all of the Slater sisters, including Belinda the absent sister and restoring Mo and Charlie as permanent characters. And a recast Michelle and Vicki and Spencer, along with Ruby Allen as the new Janine. I would also want to bring back Simon Wicks properly, after that brief comeback in the episode with Pat's funeral. I also want Robbie Jackson back permanently. I also want Shirley Benson back.

Why would George live with Shirley if Darren dies? Darren has a mum, dad, two sisters and a brother who can look after George if he dies.

The Mitchell's don't need to be in the Vic. If Janine ever returns I want her to own the Vic and live in the Vic. Janine would make a great landlady.

BIB. I agree. I loved seeing Bianca onscreen and sharing scenes with Kat and Alfie and I loved that Tanya got to have scenes with Kat, Alfie, Bianca, Ricky, Sharon and Phil.
Sean's the only one I'm really fussed about. It'd be nice to see Chrissie make an appearance, too; I always thought her exit story was terribly unfinished.

Great post. I'm a bit of a sucker for the idea of classic characters returning, but the reality nearly always fails to live up to expectations. The only way for EE to regain the zeitgeist is by creating brilliant, relatable NEW characters.
Having said that, I thought David Wicks's return was a big success, and I'd welcome him back.
Zainab for the Masoods - if it's true about Kush, I'd love to see her give one of her iconic put downs 
Tanya - yes, to smack some sense into Abi and help her Mum.
I would be fine with a Bianca/Ricky/Diane return - they're likeable. I do want a couple of Slaters back - Little Mo and either Charlie or Sean.
