A Christmas Number One race this year?
The Official Chart Company are getting excited this year's Christmas Number One might not be the X Factor shoe in it often becomes
This years X Factor Final is on the 13th December and the winning song will be released straight after the show as per recent finals. The new charts now being on a Friday means it would then debut on the 18th. The Christmas Day chart this year is Christmas Day itself because its a Friday meaning for the XF single to be number 1 at Christmas it would need to still be selling well in its second week of release whilst all its competition would be fresh http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/the-christmas-number-1-2015-race-is-wide-open-thanks-to-the-x-factor__11147/ |

To be honest, I think all Simon Cowell wants is the #1 spot. If it gets there on the 18th but drops to #2 on the 25th December, it still made #1 so what difference does it make.
What would be funny is if the X Factor winners single entered at #2 on the 18th (probably pushed down from #1 due to lack of streaming) but then holds at #2 on the 25th for a second week before the inevitable plummet.
