This was going to be mainly for Hollyoaks 20th anniversary with what would you have changed if you where in charge of the week. But I thought, why not involve all soaps!

So. As the title says, if you where in charge of your soap's next (or latest past like EE 30th) anniversary. What would you do?
Storylines?
Any returning old characters?
Big explosions?
etc. List goes on

With Hollyoaks 20th I'd have actually killed off Freddie and had Robbie be GHK'ed. Snuggles wouldn't have been killed off either

RESULT

I would have Hollyoaks did a live episode or at least hour long episode like no E4 episode on Thursday and have the show broadcast as an hour long episode on Friday between 6.00pm until 7.00pm and in that episode I would have the killer revealed then.

HO hour long episode.
Kill Freddie for real, along with sodding Jason. And Ben, Harry and Nico because they're ****ing awful.
Focus on ANYTHING to do with the origins of the show/how it used to be (I don't like Tony, but he'd have to feature as the only original character left.) I'd feature Nancy heavily, maybe have friends of hers from when the show was good return for a couple of eps. Give her another personality transplant back to being the old nice Nancy and just forget the recent nonsense like her being vile to JP about the rape.
I'd have some focus on Jack, Frankie, Darren, Ste, Cindy, Tom, Mercy, nana and JP as they're the longer running characters now. God knows what could be done to make any of them likeable but you've got to try.
As little 2nd stint Kirkwood crap as possible, none of the GHK rubbish or any of the dismal actors apart from the death scene. I'd make it a proper disaster, much better than the Roscoes in the water shit.
I'd probably have a couple of minutes montage of particularly significant scenes/popular characters from the whole show at the end; Max and OB, Justin pushing Clare, Silas killing Heidi, that kind of thing.

Hollyoaks: I'd have left the reveal of the GHK, but it'd turn out that Lindsey faked Ste's HIV results as part of her deranged plan. Brendan would escape from prison sneak in the village to see Ste the two would reunite and leave the country together. Then I'd have Harry take up with Jason and Darren and Nancy reunite.

Corrie: They would have a whole week of live episodes that center around Sarah's latest boyfriend taking the Platt family hostage. Her new BF will turn out to be the long lost son of Richard Hillman seeking to avenge his father's death. Hillman Jr. will attempt to set off a bomb in the Platt house however they manage to stop him and throw the bomb out to the back yard where it explodes destroying the Nazir house and killing all of them instantly.

Emmerdale: This will center around the long awaited RobRon wedding. It will turn out that Robert got tied up in some shady mob type business during his time away from the Dales and now the mob guys want revenge and they simultaneously blow up Home Farm and the Woolpack leaving several dead including Jai, Marlon, Diane, Victoria, and Wendy.

EastEnders: Dean being "sorted aaahhhttt" by Darth Ronnie Mitchell. Goodbye you monster r*pist!

Eastenders - Made Ian Beale/Tony Hutchinson/Eric Pollard and the Sugdens/Ken Barlow/Alf Roberts/Paul Robinson and The Kennedys the main attraction involving a surprise return from the past with live elements and a live episode. A hugd current plot reach it's reveal or cliwax, (perfect the way they did it.)
A birth, death and wedding to. References to the past with a party so key past members could return.

EE:

The Lucy reveal was just too sad. I'd have added some levity by having Jane sing to Ian:

"Don't blame it on me sunshine
Don't blame it on the moonlight
Don't blame it on the good times
Blame it on the Bobby..."
