She is a soul singer, not a pop singer, although i have little doubt that they will try and turn her into one. She would have been better served going on The Voice.

Voters not keen on young females there either

Now I'm definitely a soul girl and always have been. I still go to as many weekenders and all dayers as my middle aged body can cope with

Louisas problem is that she';s singing soul standards rather than more updated, up tempo, contemporary soul songs which would be more age and voice appropriate.
She needs to follow her soul roots but bring a more up to date and relevant side to her performances.

By singing the old classics, as brilliant songs as they are, she runs the risk of being labelled as dated or 'the song was too big for you'.

She's young and fresh, she needs to bring that

I hope that you are right, but the GBP rarely vote for the most talented acts. its all about who they like, or dont like, which rather renders the actual singing meaningless.

Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke would beg to differ

How is that her fault. You can't blame her for something she has no control over.

Sorry, forgot the reason behind these forum.

I'm reserving judgement on her until live shows as she's been a blank canvas up to this point.

The potential she has is endless. It just has to be harnised in the right way, but hopefully not with SYCO.

problem with "potential" is that it goes unrealised in far more cases than not

I thought she was one of the best in Judges' Houses, but not stunning. Nowhere near as good as any of the boys, imo.

I do like her but agree that she's a little 'beige'
Not enough light and shade with her

How can you say 'Who's Loving You?', 'And I'm Telling You...' and 'Respect' aren't soul songs? I agree that her voice isn't soulful though.

Louisa has a great chance of winning the tournament, the singing is not bad and she looks like an x factor winner.

The ones I'm interesting in now are Che, Keira, Reggie N Bollie , Anton.

I think she has a good voice, and i also feel that she will do well even if she doesnt win. I actually think that 4th Impact will win even at this early stage!. But Louisa is talented no question probably finish 2nd or 3rd!

Can't stand her. All the hugging the others during Sunday's show made me sick.

Respect - Miss Frank in 2009, Misha B in 2011 and probably loads more.

The fact that she has chosen these songs herself indicates that she has no direction as an artist and is just singing the classic XF songs.”

And Sam Smith-Lay Me Down which nobody has sang.

I think she's too similar to Joss Stone, but Joss is much better and still going.

I looked up Joss Stone respect on youtube and she has performed it in exactly the same way. There's no point becoming a carbon copy of someone already out there

I'm not really a huge fan, but in my opinion she's the best singer by a wide margin. I guess I'm rooting for her for that alone.

She's certainly good at making a loud racket but I think Lauren is a much better singer and has a far, far better taste in music than her.

That's just one song. Sam Smith is hardly an inspired choice also.

Yes! I've been saying this since the start. She's a good singer but lacking in emotion. There's no soul when she sings.
