I have had to go through the restore process via itunes for my ipad as I hadn't used it for a long tie and forgot the password to enter it.I thought itunes extracted and saved apps etc, but no.
I thought the photos were stored on icloud, but there are none on the restored ipad. Can I do anything?
Also, I suppose all the music on Spotify will have gone as well?

By 'password' do you mean PIN? If you mean your Apple ID password that's different.

Photo are saved to iCloud (photo stream) if that's how you had it set up.

I don't understand the Spotify comment; it's a streaming service, and you can optionally download tracks for offline use. Just sign into Spotify and do it again.

I do not mean my apple password.
I mean the password I use to enter ipad
I hadn't used it for a long time, made severalwrong attempts and the ipad was disabled, so I had to go through the restore process.
Obviously I surely have to download the spotify app again? or will it remember me from being there before and restore all the music. it will take ages to download it again
How do I restore photos in icloud?

The obvious questions are:
Did you have a backup of your iPad in iTunes that you can restore from?
Have you logged into iCloud with your user details?
