Will there be a wildcard category?

Is is possible that a wildcard from each of the categories will return to form a fifth category to be judged by Louis Walsh? He is said to be returning as a fifth judge for the live shows with Simon making this statement:

"Simon recently teased why there would be a need for a fifth judge on the show, telling The Sun: "There is also something else which we haven't announced yet which will make the logic of having a fifth judge."

Thoughts?

wild card catagory including all those from judges houses who didnt get through and then louis is the judge and the top 3 as voted for by the public (hopefully josh, jennifer and monica) get to stay in it.

if they do this its just another example of where the show is failing

trying to come up with all these contrived twists and changes to the format is what is ruining the show, not making it better

doubt it we only have 7 live shows this year

This would actually be a very good idea but as there is less live shows this year it's very unlikely to happen this series.

as others mention, theres no where near enough weeks for a whole category. i wouldn't be surprised to see a contestant brought back - apparently Jennifer Phillips has ruled herself out of being brought back, if there's a fifth judge i'd imagine we'll get each mentor putting forward one candidate from their category and the fifth judge choosing one of them.

simon lynch ftw.

Another year maybe, because of the rugby and unusual scheduling as a result we obviously have less live shows and there'll already be a good few double eliminations so they won't ramp that up with extra contestants.

As a similar idea I'd quite like it if they mixed up the categories - each mentor to have a boy, girl, group and over. I'm not sure how that would work though, it'd be open to manipulation with one mentor having all the strongest contestants. I guess random draw to allocate the contestants would be fair. I just think that'd be an interesting twist one year.
