With Chas and Diane at odds over RobRon does anyone think its time to bring in new ownership to the Woolpack? There has been a lot of talk about replacing the McDonalds in the Rovers on Corrie does anyone feel there should be a change in pub owners in the Dales as well?

I could see Diane selling up and Moira going into business with Chas. Or perhaps Leyla (although it's probably not glam enough for her). Or they could just bring in someone new altogether.

Moira and Chas would be pretty good, I could go for that, who would run the farm though?

I say yes.

Diane is annoying me, and though it is contrived, plot-driven nonsense I can't help but hold it against her.

Chas getting a partnership has always been terrible. It's allowed her to be in almost every episode and it has made her character quite stale.

I say bring in a new family and have them take over. I imagine them to be fairly glamorous though. I would have liked David & Alicia to run it together but sadly it'll never happen.

The Squire and his minion can run the pub. Chas can go and muck out the pigs

I reckon Adam will go back to the farm and run it with Andy. Although there's money to be made in scrap metal

It'll never happen but I'd like to see Robert own it. I think he'd be an incredibly entertaining landlord.

Aaron and Robert should take over the Pub. Ideal place for them to start a family.

Get that low rent, skanky, selfish harridan "Chastity" out, and her scummy little rat of a son too.

I'm sick of the sight of Chas. I think Lawrence and Bernice would be good has landlord and landlady of the Woolpack without actually living there. Diane could pass her share to Bernice and Lawrence could buy out Chas for the rest. Mind you I think people would not take to Chrissie being in there as the landlord's daughter.

Absolutely no.

I'm sick of this notion that older characters have no place in a soap - they're only there to be wheeled out as grumbling pensioners or "concerned" older family members.

Seriously - this "desire" that soaps should only be relevant to young viewers is partly what's killing the damn things off!!!!!!

That would make sense. I always thought it was weird that Adam wanted to get out of farming.

It could be entertaining for a couple weeks but I could't see him owning it long term.

Chas is no skank you must be confusing her with her niece

That wasn't really my point, I enjoy the older characters, Val was one of my favorites, but I think its time for a change in the Woolpack and Diane has become annoying as hell.

Yeah - your point really was.............. "I'm bored with x,y or z" - so lets just throw everything up in there because I need to be entertained.

No. The ownership being women from Sugden / Dingle family works well. They are both key families in Emmerdale and it pulls them into the pub as a focal point in the community.

Diane is and always has been awful (IMO of course before someone shoots me down) - Would love to see her leave the village, let alone The Woolpack.

Not exactly, I had been thinking about how everyone complains about the McDonald's running the Rovers and that Diane has been running the Woolpack longer than them, so I wondered if people felt a change is due at the Woolpack too. Personally I like the McDonalds at the Rovers, especially Liz, where as Diane does nothing for me, she's a very boring character.

I think Diane should go, actually I would rather had her die in the House of Mirrors than Val but that wasn't to be.
Jimmy and Nicola would be interesting, Chas and Nicola would work well together for all the wrong reasons!

I agree Diane should have been the one to die. Didn't they try Nicola running the pub a few years ago? I know I watched some clips of her and Jimmy trying to run the pub.

Once they break up Bob and Wendy, I think Bob and Harriet would be a good choice to run the pub as well.

Speaking of the hall of mirrors, I do find it strange that no one has ever said to Eric that Val wouldn't have died if you hadn't locked her in.

Yes, Nicola and Jimmy! When they tried to it was a disaster but it was a hilarious disaster.

I don't mind Diane usually, she's one of the calmer and more reasonable characters. I don't like what they've done to her over the past several weeks though.

Robert would be hilarious. He'd be so flipping rude to everybody there would be no customers left after 48 hours.

I wouldn't mind a change. I quite like Diane, but since Aaron came back Chas has been AWFUL. Maybe Diane could retire and put her feet up a bit, and Chas could get chucked out by someone new buying it out.

I'd ask Robert for a double
