After Abbey & Aljaz, Alison & Aljaz, Julian & Janette, Jake & Janette, Georgia & Giovanni and Kellie & Kevin, I wouldn't be surprised if those pesky producers would have sprung a 'Jamelia & James' on us.

I'm not clear on your reasoning here. Why couldn't they have paired Kirsty with Pasha if they wanted Brendan/Katie and Anton/Carol pairings?

Begs the question or poses the question? I'm not sure what you're getting at here.
Do you mean that my comment leaves unanswered the question of who JJ would have got, or that the assertion by the poster I quoted begs the original question posed in this thread by presenting a logical fallacy (James would without doubt have been paired with Katie) which they seemingly assume to be true in the absence of evidence other than their belief that it was beyond doubt?
