I think Craig should be prevented from speaking so disparagingly about current contestents. It could certainly dent a person's confidence AND make all future marking by Craig somewhat suspect.

Craig says "I want to see him fly not fail", so perhaps he is just trying to push him to do better?

My guess is that he meant to drum up sympathy for Peter rather than knock him, but I agree that he shouldn't give interviews about the contestants like this, any of them.

I agree it would probably be best if the judges didn't comment on the contestants while the competition is ongoing, but I don't think he's saying anything that Peter doesn't already know. He has been a bit overshadowed - I think because everyone knows so much about him its quite hard for him to do anything that will really surprise people and create a 'wow' dance. Janette will probably do a great salsa for him, but even then it won't be the same sort of surprise as when Jake did it.

I don't think Craig's marking of Peter will become suspect (unless he decides to create 'Strictly Confidential 2: The Peter Andre edition' )

I agree that perhaps judges should not comment on contestants in interviews (although this may well have been taken out of context) but I do agree. Peter is still a bit of an also-ran - OK, but not improving.

I don't think he should be singling people out .. either for criticism or praise.

Problem is Janette is an experienced salsa dancer, not ballroom & Latin. I like her as a person - honestly I do - but I don't think she is right for a show based on bb & Lat.

That's how I see it, too. He might have been seen as a winner at the beginning, but he's becoming a middle of the leaderboard. He needs to do better and stand out if he does not want to leave.

People will do whatever they like anyway, they always do.

on the JR show, darcey said that Jeremy wouldn't win, and named 4or 5 she expected to be at the 'sharp end' of the show...andre's name cropped up then , too...

Who the help gives any credence to what Craig has to say

Unless of course they specialise in jazz hands with mobile backside

He may have been answering a direct question about Peter. It doesn't sound like the whole conversation has been printed.

I doubt it, not if our popularity poll is anything to go by. He is stuck between Jeremy and Carol right at the bottom.

Jake... very showy initial start, high marks, but as contest went on he didn't noticeably improve and so fell steadily further and further down the table until in the end he was booted for a cha-cha with no cha-cha content, something you shouldn't be getting by the semi-final.

Is history repeating? Well, obviously not on the cha-cha, but again we have great showmanship but a sense the technique is not being polished.

Peter more or less agreed with the points made by Craig on tonight's ITT.

It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being the 'comeback kid' who turns it around having been written off.

That storyline goes down very well with the GBP.

I agree I'm glad he's tellling the truth instead of just saying everyone is fabulous.

I don't think history is repeating itself as Peter isn't a great showman - his dancing is really pretty mediocre and he hasn't had any memorable routines yet. Jake's performances were far more memorable and there was also the shock factor as not many people expected him to be that good, whereas with PA expectations were high and haven't been met.

If anything, I think Craig is trying to drum up extra votes for Peter which I think stinks personally. I don't see anyone saying Katie needs to up her game in her latin dances like that, somehow I get the impression they're desperate for Peter to do well in SCD. Despite comments like this the judges really give him a very easy time on Saturdays whereas the likes of Katie and Jay have been slaughtered for their mistakes.

On twitter Monkseal - and hopefully he'll correct me if I've misunderstood - says that Craig has only given Helen more points than Peter. So his 'telling the truth' doesn't really fit with his scores. I think Peter is the most newsworthy celeb this year - I swear he gets more press than everyone else put together, and most of it positive. Craig knows what will get reported.

“Technically, he’s very good but he needs to stand out from the crowd more."
