Humax Fox T2 Install Custom firmware without formating HD
Is it possible to install the Custom firmware onto the Humax Fox T2 without having to format the HD, my hard disk is currently filled with a lot of recordings I want to keep.
Main reason I want to replace the firmware is because I don't like the 4am auto updates, sometimes they wake me up and I can't seem to change the time or disable it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Installing custom firmware has never involved formatting the hard drive; where have you got the idea that it might?
I just installed the custom firmware via this guide. http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Install_Modified_Firmware The PVR looks exactly as it did before the install am I missing something? All I want to do is remove the 4am updates. |

You need to visit hummy.tv and start reading.

By the looks of it I won't be able to disable the 4am update unless I connect to some sort of web interface. My Humax isn't currently connected to the web in any way. |

I'm actually on there now, they may as well be speaking Klingon.

Working fine on my end.
Site is not responding to a ping and I can't log in on a mobile device using Firefox either. |

The custom firmware makes no difference whatsoever to the native Humax UI. All additional functions are accessed through the web interface. If your hummy is not networked there's not much point installing it.
The hummy website and the associated Wiki contain a wealth of information but some of the site gurus are a little intolerant of non-Klingon speakers... |
