CS - Faye pregnancy
What was the point of having the whole Faye pregnancy storyline? It just seems completely and utterly ridiculous to have a storyline take centre stage only to then sweep it all under the carpet.
Hollyoaks have done a much more realistic teen pregnancy storyline with Tom and Peri it must be said. |

I think it was one of those "shocking" story lines designed to shock, but quickly realised it was a big mistake. None of the characters were good enough to retain our interest and get us to believe in them and their plight. They had a go at showing what a struggle motherhood was but the effect was ruined by Anna's one dimensional character unable to do more than screech, and Faye unable to do more than strop. Problems compounded by the fact that Faye was just too childlike to be viewed as someone who had had sex. Yes I know this happens in real life, but the whole plot was imo badly handled and wrong for Corrie and just seemed a device to grab headlines rather than being a meaningful plot.
I wish it had never happened, but even worse now that show seems to be acting as though it never happened. |

Plus I'm sure baby Miley will show up in a few years to torment Anna and Faye which will make for a good story. |

What I can't understand is why the pregnant teens are ALWAYS given baby girls. There is a rare case it'll be a boy but most of the time it's not. Way to make young girls think they'll get a cute little dress up doll if they get knocked up

I think it was basically shoehorned in to initially shock but it fell flat because of its players (e.g. Fay, Anna, the baby daddy). Similarly I am having a hard time caring about the plight of Fizz, Tyron and Hope. It would be better if handled by another family (maybe Amy and the Barlows?) but I have no connection to a child barely shown on screen before now. And she doesn't speak??????? |

The whole thing seems to have been completely forgotten about, what happened to Anna and Tim's anger/upset over Miley being taken to Canada for good? They got over that quickly.

I agree, they started a storyline then didnt like the way the viewers reacted so brought it to a sudden stop. It came from nowhere then vanished just as quick. I see the same problem when the opposite happens , a s/l or new character is a success, then instead of letting the plot come to a natural end they keep it going just to keep the new character in situ even when it becomes ridiculous. If a character is successful that was only meant for a specific s/l why do they not let the plot finish, then re introduce the same character further down the way with a believable s/l

The annoying thing about Faye's story is that she has been shown to have just gotten over the whole thing as if nothing happened, at least with Hollyoaks they've shown that Tom and Peri's lives have changed completely. Faye is perfectly fine?

I suppose if Faye is still around in a few years and they want a storyline for her they will be able to do the Hodge family (Miley's father and grandparents) returning to the UK. Can't find anything else positive about it.

I think something with Faye and Miley could happen soon, but with Kate Oates coming in soon and if the character of Miley doesn't return under Stuart Blackburrn, she may decide to write the character of Miley out or she may bring her back, but I'm not sure.
Miley was last seen in August, so it's been 2 months. I think the reason the storyline has gone quiet is because Ellie Leach and the triplets who play Miley are children, so they have working laws applied to them and Ellie has school on top. They have featured quite heavily this year and children from birth through to Year 11 can work so many weeks consecutively before so many weeks off. And when they do have kids on set, they have to pay for tutors and chaperones. A lot of the other children aren't seen for ages, some with or without explanation. |

it would have been so much better had they ran with the thing with Faye telling the SW she didn't want the baby (which seemed to have been totally forgotten about) and had her relinquish the baby for a genuine adoption. that would have been an amazing storyline. instead it was pish.

The whole storyline was just wrong from the off . They leaked it out and no one thought it would be a good idea and it went downhill from there . A decision was made off the cuff to airbrush miley from history but as another poster said they then missed a trick when they didn't do it as an adoption story which would have been much better.
