I think that's always been something the viewers have had in the back of their mind, but if she were still alive, it would be far to contrived! I loved Val, but I actually enjoyed her exit. I'd be pretty pissed if they brought her back from the dead.

Same. I thought her exit was fantastic, it would be a shame to lose all of that heartbreak and suffering by writing her back in.

I wouldn't like it either. I don't see how it could happen as Eric identified her body.

If she turns up alive I can see Eric throttling her almost to death. He would be furious. I can see his face now. First of all he would think he was seeing things then he would lose it and go for her. I hope she isn't alive. I can't remember who saw her dead but surely it would have been Eric who identified her body? If he lied about her being dead or alive then all of his behaviour and hating Chrissie wouldn't make sense.

Val went out in a very valtacular way. I loved the "Hi- I'm Val." line just before the glass fell down. And the ghost/Eric hallucination scenes were so great. It'd be stupid to bring her back.

As much as I loved Val, dead characters need to stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

He did say that he barely recognised her though. So you never know!

I'm fed up of the dead not staying dead in Soap and Val's exit was so her it would be a shame to undermine that

Also, Eric identified her body not to mention all the ambulance and firemen which would have seen and moved her dead body.

Resurrecting dead characters is one of the reasons soaps have lost their integrity, their loyal viewership and their standing as shows which provide strong character driven believable drama.

New producers come in & effectively piss all over the show's history in a bid make their own mark on the show.

In the long-term - it just turns the soaps into a joke.

I don't think there is anything wrong with bringing characters back from the dead as long as its belivable. Bringing Val back would be hard to do since Eric identified her body. Now I think Callum on Corrie is a perfect example of someone who could easily be brought back from the dead because for all we know he could have escaped out of Gail's manhole.
