To elaborate on the title, I'm wondering who everyone feels most at ease watching?

Jay has obviously shown himself to be capable of delivering amazing routines - but after his quickstep I find myself worrying about whether he'll pull it off on the night.

The person who I feel is the most consistent performer, and who I don't worry about while watching is Kellie. She's not my favourite contestant by any means, but I always feel comfortable watching her...not really concerned about her making any mistakes.

Anyone can mess up on live television doing a dance they've only had four days to learn. Give them all a break.

Kellie's got a huge workload with her day job as well and she was flagging by the end of that jive, not helped by Kevin not reducing his level of performance at all (that annoys me a bit). Don't jinx her.

If they never mess up, that says to me that they're dancing well within their capacity, and I'm more interested in people who are stretching themselves beyond what they knew they could do and taking risks.

I'm not being disparaging towards anyone. I can't help if I find myself concerned whether someone will pull it off on the night - I think it's a pretty normal feeling.

I understand that it's good to take risks, but I do enjoy it when there's someone who you feel at ease watching.

Lol, fair enough. I wouldn't describe her dancing as particularly relaxing, no. She's quite strong in her movements...that said, I just don't feel myself worrying about her making mistakes.

I feel comfortable watching Georgia: she's a good dancer, never gurns, I'm not on tenter-hooks fearing a Gleb Special, her interviews are always safe and I'm in no way invested in her winning so my heart isn't in my mouth fearing a bout of Matt Di Angelo mind-blanking.

Thanks, nice response!

I think I feel similarly about her too.

I don't really want to watch someone who makes me comfortable, it means they're not very good and I couldn't care less what happens to them. I'm comfortable watching Jamelia, Carol, Jeremy and Kirsty because I know what to expect from them and I'm bored.

I get a little frisson to watch Kellie, Peter and Georgia. as they could be good or they could be uninspiring.

I get nervous watching Jay, Katie and Anita as I have no idea what to expect and it gets my heart racing when the dance starts. I'm not thinking it could go wrong, but my heart does pump with thought it could be special.

The only one who makes really uncomfortable is Helen and that's because she looks so uncomfortable, especially in Latin. I have to watch from behind a cushion

Feeling comfortable is not one of the reasons I watch Strictly.

I watch in the hope of seeing a performance that sweeps me away, caught up in the moment of two people moving to music in a way that brings me joy.

This series, I have experienced this feeling for Katie & Anton's VW, Tristan & Jamelia's charleston, Anita & Gleb's American smooth and tango, and Jay & Aliona's waltz, jive and paso.

Comfortable just doesn't come into it for me.

I, as much as anyone else, love performances and celebs that have you on the edge of your seat.

That said, I think it's also great having a contestant who you know will deliver a good performance week in, week out.

Depends on what dance they're doing.

Kellie's Foxtrot was excellent and soothing, as was Katie's VW.

Some you don't want to be soothing - Anita's tango, Jay's Paso and Kellie's jive.

(Leaving Jay's jive out of this )

There are two couples who make me comfortable watching
Jay - When he is doing both ballroom & latin he always delivers even with the mistakes his Quickstep was still good.
Anita - When doing both I know she will deliver in latin and ballroom.

These 5 celebs suit one genre but not the other yet but that will change as the series progresses
Georgia - When doing latin as I think she is better doing that.
Peter - He makes me feel comfortable doing latin
Kellie - Ballroom
Helen - Ballroom because she is graceful and better in hold.
Katie - Ballroom she is way better in hold

Thanks, Hannah. Think you understood what I meant in my original post.

I agree with pretty much all of your post. The rumba was a bit of a blip on Peter's Latin record, but I do think he's very consistent delivering the performance level required for each

Last year .. though she wasn't my favourite .. I always felt Frankie would dance well. Hardly ever saw her stumble or miss a step. I remember that mental jive that started on a surf board. She didn't even seem fazed by that.
Only a few of her dances wowed me .. but she was really consistent I thought.

Sadly I preferred Caroline .. who gave me some really high moments and some low ones too Much more nerve wracking to watch.

this week is not a good week, because she's got a cold

I agree, OP, Kellie always delivers. She's not a standout yet - but she is very consistent.

I don't know if comfortable is what I feel, but I do know that when I watch Anita, I feel uplifted, if she made a mistake from start to finish, I still think I would feel this. I genuinely like her, grounded lady, hardworking and for me at least, a joy to watch. Up to now I think she has been totally underrated.

I know what you mean Nina. I hate seeing people mess up on live telly. It's one of the reasons I feel a bit tense watching the live soap episodes. I guess Kellie and Helen are two that I feel are least likely to make a slip up as they're very "stage school" and used to performing. I would say the same about Jay and think his mistake was due to Aliona perhaps pushing him a bit too far. But I always feel a sense of relief when my favourites get through the routine unscathed

Anita, she's a great dancer, and seems very at ease in the spotlight. Very likable too.

Same here. I want to be lifted and exhilarated watching a dance. The celebrities I feel comfortable watching are the boring ones like Georgia because whilst I don't want her to mess up, I'm not interested in her at all.
