Would you keep Janet? Its nice having a down syndrome character in Eastenders.

I think it's OK. But that's all really.

Ever since Max was arrested and Carol left, the quality has took a nosedive once again. Kathy's 'full time' return has been a bit of a shambles, but has still entertained me, if that makes sense. It's all the other drab that I struggle to care about... Such as, Elaine and Jason.

I just hope tonight's episode doesn't disappoint. I remember when they hyped up the Christmas Day episode last year and it was pretty rubbish, yet the New Year's Day episode was amazing, and one of the best episodes in years, so we'll have to wait and see. I think the production team need a bit of a shake up though, I'd like to see some new dynamic characters, and some iconic old characters brought back, with some storylines that actually grip me. I remember how good the show used to be about 5/6 years ago.

Do you think that's mainly down to being out of slot or are there other trends at play?

Corrie didn't seem to suffer as badly from being out of slot or having little promotion?

just trying to be balanced and objective!

I am enjoying it. It's not fantastic right now, but it's alright. I particularly like the Cokers storyline and Shabnam and Kush, and Martin and Stacey. The Kathy storyline is not really engaging me at the moment.

Oh it's far more than being out of slot. It really has entered jump the shark territory this year. Beale cover up for Bobby / Kathy gangsta return just contrived tedious and character destroying storylines. There's more wrong but these two in particular just seem so plot line driven.

I miss engaging characters and storylines, I've grown tired of having to wait months even a year to get any type of progress or resolution to a plot to pay off, the continuity, pacing and block storytelling is terrible

I'm bored, I feel like watching some times is a chore, half the characters I find uninteresting and most of the ones I do like are not even used or just bogged down with crap plots, I could careless about the Cokers, Donna, Ma Hubbard, Kim, half of the Carters.

I miss Janine, I never thought I would say that.

I was watching back to 2010 and just thinking what a different state the show was in.

I don't know what the solution is but I think it will get far worse before better, after xmas I think we're in for another lull and with Kate Oakes going over to Corrie, I think EE needs to up it's game, big time.

Even though I found 2010 boring it was miles better than 2015.

2015 has been great in my opinion.

Great storylines and character development.

The Beales and the Mitchell's have made EE for me this year.

I'm hoping for a rating boost for EE tonight. Hoping for 7m+

5 million is wonderful for a UK soap. A lot of mainstream US shows get less than that.

Making Bobby the killer. Jane a body lugging sociopath. Ian the longest serving character complicit in this cover up of his daughter without a second thought.

Ad hoc Kathy appearance. Phil knew she was alive. Gone again for months.

Dean did he die after Mick hit him? Yawn.. Dragging out the storyline for sake of it.

Ronnie and Vincent.

I might be the only one who found the live episode disappointing such as Bobby being the killer and Kathy returning from the dead which is just stupid. Many I know have stopped watching it because of that reason.

Also I always notice on twitter DTC and his team are always hyping the episode up but when it come to the actual episode it disappointing. If 2016 is like 2015 DTC needs to leave.

If Ian had killed Lucy then do you think he would left?

Did you like the fully live episode on the 20th February?

Who mentioned Ian killing Lucy? Mind you his character has been severely damaged by the last 9 months. Beales had been rejuvenated with the storyline up until live week reveal.

Anything from 2007-2010 I think was a decent period, it had it's ups and downs but had a lot going on and didn't feel stagnant.

I like Mick & Linda, but most of their scenes have been on repeat this year, just don't find the likes of Babe, Nancy, Shirley, Tina and Dean that great, Dean was ruined by the rape, Babe is the nosy virgin aunt, Tina is the most boring lesbian ever, Nancy the nag has done nothing note worthy in 2 years, I don't think the Carters have done Shirley any favours tbh, it was suppose to be a family for her and she been isolated from them for the best part of their time on the show and she just had the same scenes with Mick and Dean since December. she would of been better stuck with Phil for all good they've really done her.

Yeah that a decent figure, the days of 10-20 million are long gone I think.

Depends on which characters it's about. Some are watchable, some are unwatchable. There's no inbetween.

The Carters being the reason for EastEnders woes is no longer an option. They're featured more or less the same amount as the Mitchells and Beales now so their domination is no longer a factor. For me EastEnders is at its worst when it's focused on the filler characters like Martin and Stacey, Shabnnam and Kush, Vincent and Kim, Fatboy and Donna, etc. Elaine doesn't help matters with the Carters but hopefully she'll be gone soon along with that annoyance Dean and the equally irrirating and spent force of Ronnie and Roxy.

Exactly. It's like watching two different shows depending on who is in the episode.

It can go from brilliant to utter shit literally overnight.
