Nah. It's the Beale / Kathy return storylines that have driven it to the state it's in. There has always been secondary even filler storylines. They are not the pull / push factor with soap viewers it's the main storylines. Producers need them for light and shade. Strikes me that secondary characters / storylines are an easy scapegoat for the bigger more fundamental problems.

I haven't watched it as I'm totally bored of the Gavin storyline. So I'll take your word for it.

But I find the Kim/Vincent, Ronnie/Roxy/Dean and Kush/Shabs/Stacey rubbish even more boring so there's nothing much keeping me interested at the moment.

Because prickly Shabnam, moody Stacey and dullard Kush were SO exciting.

Both are to blame.

Kathy's return (the storyline itself not the character of Kathy) has flopped and the Bobby story is underwhelming with no followup to what happened to Max.

Personally I enjoy watching some characters even if their stories are crap whereas other characters are bores full stop no matter what they're doing.

I like Mick & Linda, but most of their scenes have been on repeat this year, just don't find the likes of Babe, Nancy, Shirley, Tina and Dean that great, Dean was ruined by the rape, Babe is the nosy virgin aunt, Tina is the most boring lesbian ever, Nancy the nag has done nothing note worthy in 2 years, I don't think the Carters have done Shirley any favours tbh, it was suppose to be a family for her and she been isolated from them for the best part of their time on the show and she just had the same scenes with Mick and Dean since December. she would of been better stuck with Phil for all good they've really done her.

Yeah that a decent figure, the days of 10-20 million are long gone I think.”

I don't think Nancy is that bad and pus she and Tamwar are cute. Hopefully when dean leaves then the Carters can become normal again.

I'm not interested in Kim or Shabs and Kush, but they're not exactly dominating the show. The Beale's followed by the Mitchells have been at the forefront for months.

I don't think Stacey and Shabnam are that bad. Do you think Rakhee can act? What storyline would you give to Stacey if you were EP and what storyline would you give Shabnam and Kush if you were EP? I think each time a new EP comes along even the characters we don't like should be given a chance. After DTC when another EP comes along he/she might be a good EP and they might make Stacey, Shabnam and Kush interesting.

Phil's return has got me interested again. Although I don't think it's been that bad.

Bobby storyline fell apart a long time before the Max farce. That was the lid on the coffin. I don't want anything else on screen quite honestly. Just to hear Jane has gone to police and admitted all. She's gone and Max has been released. Turns out Lauren and Peter got her to do it. Salvage for Peter /Lauren / Max. Jane gone. Bobby gone for a while. I know it is a dream that won't happen. This tedious stuff has years to run yet.

Gangsta stuff on EE got me to turn off for a few years in noughties. If it continues I'll have to do it again.

The moral code in EE is way off and getting worse.

If they could be bothered Nancy and Tanwar are a couple that they could get the audience really rooting for. A simple secondary story bubbling along.

Don't be modest. They've been at the forefront for decades apart from the BranningVille era and The Carter Show era. The Mitchells and Beales ARE EastEnders. I don't know how you've stuck with it all these years if you hate them so much. They've never been wallflowers.

I don't like Stacey and Shabnam. Characters whose moods change on a dime get on my nerves because all the characters around them have to walk on egg shells. I don't enjoy watching that. Stacey was fine when she first got back to the square but she's gone back to her default setting of mouthy, miserable and self righteous. All I'm waiting for now is for her to reveal she's still a slapper and that the baby isn't Martin's.

The Bobby storyline could have been good if it had concentrated on Bobby but all the twists and turns and far fetched rubbish has squandered it. There's a book called We Need To Talk About Kevin that inspired this storyline but DTC has pissed all over that book with the crapfest this storyline has turned into.

I've always loved the gangster stuff in EastEnders. It makes it more of a "blokey" sort of show. I hated all the faffing about with book clubs and sitcom plots that was going on since the Santer era.

I agree about the moral code being off. You need to have good guys to root for. I don't see many interesting good guys at present. Just bores, psychos and amoral cowards.

If you ever become EP of Eastenders would you give Stacey and Shabnam a chance and give them a good storyline.

I won't ever become EP of EastEnders so I wouldn't worry about it

Stacey can be saved if she goes back to how she was after she left prison and gets back with Max. Shabnam is never going to be a favourite of mine, I'm afraid.

- The Kathy story bores me. Kathy herself bores me.
- Block storylining is awful.
- Various characters over dominate and others are completely underused.
- The Bobby cover up has made so many people too unlikeable.
- Martin and Kush are so dull and Stacey has become very dull too.
- Gavin doesn't intimidate me at all.

I'm bored, I feel like watching some times is a chore, half the characters I find uninteresting and most of the ones I do like are not even used or just bogged down with crap plots, I could careless about the Cokers, Donna, Ma Hubbard, Kim, half of the Carters.

I miss Janine, I never thought I would say that.

I was watching back to 2010 and just thinking what a different state the show was in.

I don't know what the solution is but I think it will get far worse before better, after xmas I think we're in for another lull and with Kate Oakes going over to Corrie, I think EE needs to up it's game, big time.”

I really enjoyed 2009/2010. The show is unrecognisable to what it was back then, and that was only 5 years ago.

Nancy is dreadful. The way she speaks and the way she acts just annoy me. By the time she manages to finish a sentence, I've fell asleep, because she drags out literally every word she says, and says 'like' and 'Um' about 500 times an episode. It's very unengaging.

Im hoping if Stacey's baby is not Martin's then I hope its Max's baby. I would like to see a storyline when Lily becomes really ill or a bulimia storyline for stacey instead,

But Nancy isn't too bad IMO. Maddy Hill speaks better than Nancy, Nancy is a bit of a chav and people who are chavs probably speak like Nancy does.

The problem is inconsistency. There have been some absolute crackers of episodes followed by periods of sheer crap

I think the Cokers have been a little gem of storylines though
