Linda Carter EE - What does she bring to the show?

Kellie is a fab actress but I find the character Linda as interesting as white paint. What would you do with Linda Carter?

Linda had the perfect opportunity to come into her own during this rape storyline, but she was sidelined in favour of more tedious Mick/Shirley/Dean drama. I think Linda is by far the strongest and most likeable of all the Carters; a huge shame that she is now effectively a supporting character in the Mick and Shirley show.

I wish they hadn't made her so superficial and girly. I find that sort of woman so boring.....and her mother's no better.

She's just a nice, down to earth normal character. Nothing wrong with that. Works well as a landlady in that respect.

This, and the fact that she is the best actress of them all .

I wouldn't go that far. She's no Tracy Ann-Oberman Or Anita Dobson for that matter

Glamour behind the bar and a good friend, wife and mum. I would like to be friends with her if I was a character in EE

I don't like or dislike Linda really. But I do find her a bit OTT sometimes, and she doesn't really engage me as a viewer. I have to agree with vald about tptb making her so superficial.

I like Linda behind the bar. I want more of her and Whitney

I quite like Linda, she's an easy going woman who is someone I can imagine running an East London pub and she sounds the part of a real Londoner. Unfortunately the rape story line didn't help her character as Mick / Dean / Shirley were given priority and Linda was neglected when it should have been her story. When Jonny was there Linda was given more to do when the character found out her "sausage" son was gay. I think Linda has been neglected lately though which is a shame as Kellie Bright is an engaging actress who is nice to watch.

I can't say I dislike her, but she can be rather bland. Still, as others have said, she does make a good landlady.

Same. I neither like more dislike her a lot on either side. She is just one of those characters that I don't have much of an opinion on. Linda does work well as landlady of the Vic, but I much prefer flawed characters, I find them more interesting and Linda can be quite bland.

I don't think Linda is a good landlady. She never interacts with the customers and always looks bored. She's not Peggy...

Linda is basically a combination of Angie Watts (voice, mannerisms) and Peggy Mitchell (questionable dress sense); just like Mick is Alfie Moon and Frank Butcher. But somehow it works. I really like her.

I couldn't really care less about Linda.
She's one of those 'ok, but nothing special' characters to me.

I don't dislike her, as such, but I don't particularly like her either.

I find her dull and think that her dress sense and girly-girly personality are ott and irritating.

In fact, I find her and Mick boring as a couple. I think both characters have huge potential, but I'm bored of their sickly-sweet relationship.

I know others like the fact that they are a stable, loving, 'normal' couple, but to me that makes them dull as dishwater. Sorry, but it does.

I want them to split up. Which I know a lot of people don't want to happen, but I think each character (Linda and Mick) would benefit from not being with the other.

As for the kids.... they need to move away from home. The family unit bores me.

I really like Linda. I think she's a fantastic character and there's nothing wrong with her at all. I think tha Carter's as a whole are just a bit tedious and don't work as well behind the bar IMO. Linda is without a doubt one of the better characters in that family unit though.

I like Linda best with other females such as Sharon, Kat, Whitney and Stacey.

Before Kat left I thought there was a great opportunity to build a friendship between them.

I really like Linda, shes got a good relationship with Mick and the kids which is nice to watch, shes friendly and down to earth and quite a normal grounded person. I'll take her behind the bar over Peggy any day TBH. Love that her and Mick are a loving and stable couple. Fair enough she may not be the most dramatic or multilayered character and shes not carrying around umpteen secrets but I dont think thats a bad thing, the show benefits from characters like that IMO.

I think Kellie Bright was brilliant during the initial aftermath of the Rape and showed off her great acting, however I would definitley echo the claims that the SL which should have been all about Linda and focused on how it effected her character throughout became all about Mick and Shirley fighting over Dean and Shirley trying to choose between sons. To the determent of all characters involved IMO, including Linda who was pushed to the sidelines in the end in her own story and the biggest one she has had.

I thought I was the only one 're Mick and Linda. I prefer them separately.

Sorry, Linda who? Was she the one involved in Shirley and Dean and Mick's rape storyline?

I don't like her at all. Of course I've felt for her a huge amount during the rape storyline and been outraged at the way various characters have treated her, but as a character I do not like her one bit. She acts nicey nicey on the face of it but is horrendously judgmental to a really enraging degree sometimes, can be bitchy, childish, seems ignorant and maybe even bordering on bigoted. Then there's the royalist crap, tedious overbearing mothering, infantile dress sense... She's just a bad and silly character.

She is a horrible character, played badly. I hope Strictly opens new doors for the actress and that she leaves the soap and takes the rest of her tedious family with her.
