Many thanks for the spoiler by the way. Carol and Jeremy could be here for a while yet.

I agree.

You can see on ITT that neither of their smiles reach their eyes. Pasha is literally going through the motions and not even bothering to teach Carol to dance (can't say I blame him tbh).

Her rumba is one of the worst dances I've seen on Strictly. Brian Capron level of badness. I feel sorry for Kirsty, too. She's not a terrible dancer but the idea that Brendan is jaded with the whole thing post-Sophie is quite real IMO.

Jamelia is not bad enough for sympathy votes, nor good enough for ability votes. Same with Kirsty.

I think we may have a shock bottom two next week, which may change the way that subsequent votes are cast. I can see someone like Anita or Kellie finishing mid table and ending up in the dance off. Carol and Jeremy will soldier on untroubled until a good dancer bites the dust

She did & I wasn't that surprised by her response.
It was a nasty thing to say IMO

Kirsty V Jamelia

KIRSTY OUT

PLEASE DO NOT post the result, or allude to it in any way, outside of this thread on DS until AFTER the results show has aired - it leads to complaints about the spoiler being available in general, & risks the spoiler thread being closed down by forum admin

Jamelia is imo pregnant and the judges save her to be 'kind' - I think another poster mentioned this last week. That rhumba of Carol's was the worst serious dance I have ever seen.

How Carol can get 13 in week six and still not in the bottom two is outrageous.

We love losers/idiots/underdogs in this country.

Kirsty should not have gone, it should have been Carol.

Some people just vote for the dancer at the bottom of the leaderboard regardless of who it is.

They are very sad people with an extremely sad attitude.

Natalie had played a "nasty" character on Coronation Street for a while, so I guess a lot of public might have been a bit confused and did not know her real personality.

However over the series I am sure she won a lot of people over with her "normal" personality.

Obviously in the final you get all the former X-factor voters wading in - who only knew Natalie for being a nasty character on TV, meaning she did not win.

Jamelia has a different problem, as she is not acting if she says something unpleasant on TV

Yes, they'd want to keep the pregnant woman in the dance competition as long as possible, that makes total and complete sense.

Yes - the insurance would not be any more expensive.

Seriously, if she knew she was pregnant at the start she would have been pulled out.

Only needs a lift to go wrong and the BBC is culpable.

I don't think for a second that Jamelia is pregnant. I am pretty sure she would not have gone into Strictly if she were and it seems most years one of the females is pregnant. Last year so many people were convinced Ola was and, of course, she wasn't.

No, I doubt it. I think there is a good chance Jamelia will be there again and possibly Carol. If someone decent ends up there with Carol, Jamelia or Jeremy the judges will keep the decent dancer.

Personally I'd like to see Kellie in the dance off (although saved by the judges) as it may bring her down to earth a bit

Again, it seems every year people say a decent dancer will go over a not very good one and I don't really remember it happening.

People can vote for who they like, whether it be on dancing ability, attitude or just that they like that person.

I haven't voted yet this year but if I were to it would probably be for Jeremy at the moment and then a few weeks down the line Jay.

I like Carol but I wouldn't vote for her. I don't though think she is a loser or an idiot and I also don't think that people who do vote for her are sad. That, I think, is a rude thing to say

Can anyone enlighten me as to why people are voting for Carol Kirkwood? I mean I have only seen her on this, although I knew who she was because I have heard her on Chris Evans in the morning. But what makes her so special and loved by the public that they vote for her when she is absolute pants?

Cos she's nice, and smiley and always happy and jolly and smiley and nice.

But she can't dance for peanuts. That "rhumba" was the absolute nadir of SCD... And I've seen Craig Kelly dance!

As I said earlier, perhaps viewers also respond when a couple has a notoriously difficult dance to totally inappropriate music

I tend to agree. I think Carol was given a ridiculous song for a rumba and, although it didn't make me vote for her (I didn't vote at all) I can see why lots of people did.

Everyone says how difficult a rumba is and yes it must be quite embarrassing a dance for a complete novice so why on earth make it extra extra difficult by making them dance it to a song that would not suit in a million years?

That to me seems a very credible theory.

That song choice seemed to be a cynically shameless appeal to women aged 45-55. Since I am that target audience, I suppose I should have been charmed, and yet I wasn't. I felt so sorry for Pasha trying to choreograph that one. Poor Pasha.

Pasha? Or just pity votes in recognition of a ridiculous song and stupid theme for a soddin' rumba for goodness sake...

Thanks for the spoiler Abigail'sMum and DMolyneux (and anyone else who bravely went undercover for us... and without the protection of a spinny chair)...

I thiught they gave them the song to stitch them up, but then again it could be reverse psychology if your theory is right.

Don't worry too much. I don't think he did .

It looked as though he'd just grabbed some random middle-aged woman from the audience and decided to steer her round the floor for a bit of a treat.

It put me in mind of Anton doing the 'sexy' latin dances with Ann . I have to be honest and say I thought it was quite a sweet performance of a dance which was alway going to be a bit embarrassing for Carol! Sorry!

I wouldn't feel sorry for Pasha, dippy. He seems to genuinely get on well with Carol who is not too demanding or emotional and he's still in the comp too, which must go down well with the show's producers. So he's probably on the pro list for next year.

I'm going to actually watch the results show tonight, to gauge the surprise of being kept in and being in the bottom two.

And to remind myself (silly me) that last nights show was about the costumes, not the dancing. The bloody dancing really interfered with the costumes, this Halloween, IMO.

I always wanted to give jamelia the benefit of the doubt....After that reaction...I can't anymore. Dear Lord her reaction...having said that, she has her finger on the pulse on her likeability
