Agreed, and Kirsty should never play poker, her face whilst she was waiting to hear...

Oh dear shame but I guess I still have my drink and toilet break in Carol and Jeremy

I remember Natalie Gumbede had a similar hate on her too. People pick up on every detail of their wrong doing. I hope I am wrong.”

As the implication that it was the colour of their skin - the only thing they have in common apart from being female - which is stopping people voting for them, I think you're massively wide of the mark.

Jamelia's problems are:

1) she isn't bad enough to attract the sympathy votes that go to the likes of Carol and Jeremy
2) she isn't good enough to compete for votes with the likes of Jay, Helen, Georgia etc
3) her pro is relatively new to the show so hasn't built up a fan base that can compete with the likes of Anton and others

The result of all of the above is that her vote is perhaps more marginalised than some of the others and inevitably means she ends up in the dance off.”

Quite.

Well that suprised me - I thought Jamelia did a very lazy performance, not finishing off the moves, almost like she wanted to get it over and done with as soon as possible.
i Love the charleston but didn't enjoy Brendan's choreography, too many lifts and it didn't deliver on the fun element. Kirsty too, seemed a little lazy in the delivery.
But I thought B & K were the best of the two.

Ah well, my 3 free votes for Katie & Anton did the trick.

If you read my post you will know I said 'I hope I am wrong'. Meaning I hope people are not shallow enough to do that. But it does seem strange. Just saying.

Nothing strange about it at all. The colour of their skin is utterly irrelevant.

I think we will have to agree to disagree. Shame Simon Webb too had to endure so many dance off.

If colour had anything to do with it Louis Smith would not have won, Colin Jackson wouldn't have been runner up in Series Three, similar with Denise Lewis.

The reason why people didn't vote for Simon Webbe was because he had absolutely no personality whatsoever until nearly half way through the competition when it suddenly kicked in and he started projecting emotion on the dance floor and ended up as runner-up. He also came third in the Chrismas Special the year before.

And he was only in two dance offs outside of the quarter finals, so hardly dumped by the voting public - in weeks three and five.

Voting for my favourite dancer does not make me sad, who do you think you are judging people like that???? get a life it's an entertainment programme
carol had a ridiculous song choice so maybe people felt sorry for her & Jeremy was pure delight!!

Wasn't it you who went down the racist route last season? I'm sorry you live in a world where black people always vote for white people because they are not racist, but white people never vote for black people because they are racist. I voted for Simon last year and I am white as I am sure many others did. It's a shame that you have to see prejudice in everything, but that probably says more about you as a person than the Strictly voting public.

I live in the real world where such things exist. Why shouldn't I have the freedom to explore such issues. After all I do live in a democracy. Yes I did go down the race issue because I felt it. And what exactly does it say about me? You know nothing about me, my politics, morals, likes, or dislikes. We are looking at a wider issue here. Yes there have been a token black people who have done well. Lewis Smith was mixed race. Have you ever been in a position where you have experienced abject racism? When one goes through it one certainly recognises it. Now if you don't mind I will let you go back to your ivory tower where everything is honky dory.

Your last line was uncalled for because you know nothing about me and yet you feel the need to make such a personal statement about me.

On the Loose Women panel, she is very opinionated, maybe that's a reason too. I did think though, there were worse dancers than her last night.
It's strange that Natalie wasn't popular when she was on she was a good dancer and I always looked forward to her dances.”

I don't remember hearing the Bit in Bold.

I've found a number of clips on youtube - which seem to cover the chats with Jamelia about partners. The BiB doesn't come up.

It's not the first time I've heard a story on here - about Jamelia or other celebs - which isn't backed up by the information available elsewhere on the internet.

I saw it, during the launch show. She said there were someone (or several?) she didn't want - and either before that or after that, she said she knew who she DID want, as well. Maybe it was Tess who asked her if she knew who she wanted - or Claudia? But it's on there. I don't think it's still on iplayer or I'd go look for the minute it happens.

EditedToAdd: I found it! She says, "I know exactly who I want and exactly who I don't want."

It's at about 30 minutes 40 seconds at this link to the entire launch show, and it's Claudia who asks her - also notice how bowlegged she is!:

The content has been blocked in that link, but I remember her saying it anyway.
I too have noticed that she is quite bowlegged and it really makes her quite stompy. Craig did make a comment a week or so ago about keeping her legs together but I don't think she physically can, and of course it's not a nice thing to say to a woman so no-one has mentioned it since.

It's not blocked for me (just now checked again) but I'm in the US. If you do a search on Youtube for Strictly Come Dancing 2015 Launch Show - there's at least one more version other than the one I linked to - maybe more - that might not be blocked to you.

But I played it through tonight and heard it again.

You can tell she's severely bow-legged even in her ballroom gowns because they cruelly dress her in cropped dresses - you can see her legs start to splay out even at the ankles - I don't think I've ever seen anyone as bandy legged as she is. And it's anatomical so I don't think she could really bring her legs together the way you need to in ballroom, and I wonder if she can really even straighten them properly for cha cha, rumba, etc. I doubt it.

Nothing wrong with that - she's a beautiful woman, her legs are still shapely and look great and I'm sure she gets around just fine - and even dances ok but can't necessarily do all the perfecting of leg/foot action that's required for ballroom/Latin to be just right, due to the shape of her bones. And it may make fixing the flat-footed stomping impossible too, like you say.

Maybe I shouldn't jump into this, but how can you be 100% positive that there's no racism in the UK - not even subconscious racism - and that it never ever plays a part in people's preferences in voting on reality shows?

I vote for Carol and will continue to do so until she goes out. Then switch to Anita. If anyone don't like it tough t*t. And it ain't cause I'm from Scotland either.

Bottom line it's a telly programme.

First world problems.

I've reread my post several times and I can't see anywhere where I've mentioned there is no racism in the uk. Anyway, I'm not going to get into this. I thought this was a forum about Strictly Come Dancing and not a political forum. If the Mods think these sort of issues enhance this particular forum then fair enough. Race doesn't play a part in my voting and that's all I can comment on. I feel these matters aren't appropriate for this forum but that is only my opinion. It was only ever a light-hearted escape for me (which I never took seriously as most of my posts indicate) and the content is now getting way out of my comfort zone. Others may feel differently and so I will leave you to it. There's no need to reply as I won't be logging in or posting on this forum again.

Of course you're entitled to vote for who you want

Just curious as to what makes her your favourite dancer?

Shes not. Lets face it she is not very good. I just like her. Anita is fave but don't think she is in much danger of going out at this stage. Unless there us a real shock with two decent dancers in the dance off. Like Katie as well but she seems to be going backwards.

On a lighter note..... I loved the pro dance last night and was trying to work out who the pro's were. The make up made it impossible for me to work out who was who. Anyone on here with better eyesight?

When was it announced that Jamelia is pregnant? Have I missed something? I know that it is important to keep fit whilst pregnant but surely not dancing the way they are expected to in SCD. If this is correct I hope she has a Dr near her at all times to make sure she is OK.

I was trying to work that out too. I thought at first it was Kristina but settled on Ola and Pasha (I think). Loved the routine much better than we have seen recently.

I think in white the girls were Natalie at the back Janette in the middle as the rook in the longer dress and Aliona at the front as the knight. I think Oti was at the front same knight costume as Aliona but in black, Kristina as the rook in black but I don't know who the other girl was as didn't get a good look. That means either Joanne or Karen weren't in that dance, I think the only guy not in was Anton. The red King and queen were Ola and pasha

I wish they'd put the video up.
