Has Phil Mitchell always been so miserable and mean?

Was Grant a good influence?

When Grant was in the show he was the bully and hardnut. Phil was the more evenheaded, dare I say nice one. Then when Grant had his guest appearances in 2006 it was the opposite way around. Phil was definitely a more well rounded, normal character back in the day, now he's a total parody and yes I wish Grant would come back and breathe life into him, Peggy too I don't care if it's treading over the past the Mitchells were one of the best families in soap and Phil's dull as dishwater on his own.

Philth is a mean spirited homophobic thug who thinks with his fists in my opinion.

Yes, always. The whole lot of them are miserable, I don't think any of them know how to have a good laugh!

Phil used to be the nice brother and Grant was the moody one

Phil use to be the calm and more logical one, Grant was the hot headed violent bully, then Phil got worse then him.

He's taken a lot of knocks in his life, some self inflicted. He's certainly a more bitter man than he used to be.

When Grant left, they gave Phil all Grant's personality traits but "new Phil" didn't have someone to keep him in line, the way "old Phil" kept Grant in line.

He hasn't always a grumpy old bugger.
