Help required re:new dog

A couple of months ago, we took in a new dog. He is lovely, so affectionate although clingy as he has had a few owners who couldn't cope with a puppy. He has known our other dog for quite some time as they have attended doggy day care together for a year. They are both just under 2 and get along extremely well.
However, we have a couple of problems with the new dog that I'm hoping for some advice on. I would appreciate advice on what to do.

1) he is toilet trained however at night when we are in bed, he will go to the toilet in the utility room (where they are kept at night) This is despite taking him outside just before bed. How would we retrain him to stop this?

2) neither dogs bark much but since having the second dog they both bark during the night and first thing in the morning when they hear the neighbours etc. During the day if they bark at nothing, we will tell them off, but how do we control it in the middle of the night?

Toilet training during the night may take time you need to go back to basics IMO and start again. It may be he never has been trained to get through the night.

The barking when they hear noises perhaps you could use a radio in their room so they don't hear other noises.

I have either had my dogs in the bedroom or in crates and they sleep though easily, not sure if a crate may help ?
