Soap stars are paid staggering salaries and if you are one of the millions who don't watch then you might resent your licence fee producing it. With budget cuts on the horizon I can see this being the first soap to be axed . Each time the charter is renewed there is the debate on how the BBC should function. If they get rid of the licence fee then it is the choice of advertising or pay per view. As we have the tech to edit adverts it is not such a bad prospect as it once was.
