Agreed I think he's doing a fine job. I think that some people assume that because he's old he can't be seen as a major evil villain, especially against Phil.
Or maybe people are just too used to seeing him from Just Good Friends

I think he has been great aswell, and find him very interesting, he's definitely an all out physco villain which is what I love.

He is doing a great job, people on here don't know the difference between a bully (Philth) and a criminal (Gavin) who gets others to do his dirty work for him, and is unafraid to watch people truly suffer, he is imo a psychopath.

I agree.

Although he is being given daft things to do like hold everybody to ransom with a convenient box of fireworks and the world's first stay-cool lighter Paul is exceedingly creepy as Gavin and a vast improvement on recent bad guys...remember Kane

Gavin comes over sinister . Hopefully we can learn more about him and What makes him .tick. Sharon might be tempted to get to know him.

Is this a serious question?

I think it's the die hard corronation and Emmerdile fans desperate to belittle a big eastenders character in the same mould as Den, Johnny and Archie, because they know that he has huge potential.

Gavin is the best thing about Kathy's return. Paul Nicholas is relishing the chance to play such a different character than what he's used to playing. Gavin reminds me so much of Den. I hope EastEnders breaks with tradition and doesn't kill him off after a year or two. This character could be the kick up the arse this show needs.

Same. Hopefully they will flesh his character out over the next few weeks. I don't think EE have helped by saying he will be even worse than Archie. Better to let us make up our own minds than hype it up.

I thought his introduction was good but he did turn into a bit of a panto villain towards the end.

Those type of mortals are beyond ignorant and juvenile, age is just a number, especially for the kind of villainy that Gavin resembles, ala gangsterism, psychological torturer etc.

By that nonsensical logic, elderly paedophiles, rapists, etc are all harmless duo to old age.

Terry Adams is getting on a bit but would you mess with him? I wouldn't. (The Adams family are worth millions). Gavin is getting older but I guess we'll have to wait and see just how dangerous he is or isn't. I've never rated Phil Mitchell but I do like Gavin so far. I didn't know he was wearing a wig as I'm not that familiar with the actor. I don't know how he managed to hold that lighter like that. Was it filmed in bits or did he really just stand there with the lighter burning?

I struggle to reconcile the actor playing Gavin with the actor that played Vince Pinner.

Therefore I conclude that he must be a blooming good actor

The Philth spreading mortal terror into hardened criminals and gangsters was always a total joke.

He was/is just a small time thug not bloody Don Corleone.

I just hope that TPTB have the guts to keep Gavin Top Dog instead of the usual incredibly tedious Mitchell 'owning' crap that happens every single time a new villain or hardcase enters Walford.

Also they should not kill him off either - he is by far the best thing to come out of the Walking Dead's return.

We will see.

I do quite like Gavin and the actor is obviously vey good but I'm still not very comfortable with Kathy being back from the dead and I just can't invest in this storyline at the moment because of that. Also I hate the fact that they have introduced Sharon's dad - I found him saying 'ello princess a bit disrespectful to be honest

People don't like his hair!

Re the 'ello princess' line, I thought it was clever. He's been said to be a psychological bully. Certainly knew the best way to get to Sharon.
