Switching to Tesco Mobile Pay as you go Lite
Hi, can anyone confirm if it's still possible to switch on Tesco Mobile from their standard Pay as you go tariff to their well hidden Pay as you go Lite tariff? If so, is it straightforward to do so?
Looking at Pete Forman's ever excellent PAYG Tariffs webpage (now at a new URL)... https://payg-petef.rhcloud.com/ ...it shows there are other better value PAYG tariffs, but I don't think any of the top contender's SIM cards (e.g. Delight Mobile, The People's Operator, Tello) are readily available on the high street - however picking up a SIM from a Tesco isn't a problem, and ideally I'm looking to get this set up for the person in question today. Thanks for any help. |

Is that not an old tarriff this some customers may be on? Best way is to call them up and ask.

8p calls is still a bit expensive, if you have a 3G or 4G phone Three PAYG is 3p a minute, assuming you get a good signal in your natural habit.
You can pick up 3 SIMS at the checkouts in Tesco (and they put the phone number in a window so you can find a 'good' number. ) Your existing number can PAC'd over, too. |

But also I think you need to still be continuously using Tesco PAYG lite every single month as well. A break in using Tesco's PAYG even for 1 month I think triggers you having to use their standard PAYG package. |

As above, you do not have to use the phone every month to continue on the tariff and never have done!
My mother, in her 80s, has been on the tariff for about 4 years and is still on her original top up credit. |
