Hi I'm behind in my pop music this year. I like typically a good thumping pop song, good beat and a great chorus-y middle bit. My favourite two songs of last year (I'm sure I'll get comments about this!) was Lovers on the Sun (Guetta) and Break Free (Ariana Grande). That just gives you a taste of what style I like! So with that in mind, what songs would you recommend I take a listen to that's been released in 2015?

Black Magic is without doubt my favourite pop song of 2015. I'd say my top 5 pop songs of the year would be...

1. Little Mix - Black Magic
2. Years & Years - Shine
3. Jess Glynne - Hold My Hand
4. Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do
5. Years & Years - King

Adele's Hello should also be mentioned too even though it only got released last week.

Black Magic by Little Mix is a bit twisted, not only is it an annoying song with its happy crappy vibe, but it seems to have a sinister message behind it once you get past all that..First of all its all about Black Magic which is not a good thing, and then the video takes it to the next level, its full of product placement and it depicts some geeky, socially awkward schoolgirls dabbling with black magic and then suddenly transforming into the cool kids.

Not a *huge* pop fan, but I really took a liking to Miley Cyrus' "Karen Don't Be Sad" this year.

Her album was almost fantastic, but it was too long and just on the wrong side of self-indulgent.

f(x) - 4 Walls is a solid pop song.

The album of the same name is set to sell more in its first week than Fifth Harmony's did in the US.

It's not 2015. Loads of people love this song, I heard somebody say it's the song of the decade. I think I'm missing something.

What's not 2015?

According to my calendar 2015 is the year we're currently in.

And Uptown Funk has been played virtually everywhere this year and it was in the charts this year, number one if I'm not mistaken.

OP should check out Carly Rae Jepsen's album. Absolutely filled to the brim with great, unashamed pop tracks.
