I'd say Billy Mitchell would be on the least right now on EE until Honey returns.
I couldn't guess the other soaps.

Kiren? I would have thought he would be a middle ranking character. He's going to have a bigger profile when it comes out that he's the daddy of Vanessa's baby. He has also been quite prominent in Jai's coke story. I think he's probably paid quite a lot. I'd agree that Sandy and Edna would be on less.

The actress who plays Princess Di. She's trying to do a Joan Collins apparently and is constantly asking for more money. Because she is carter related, DTC gives in but it's still lower than anyone else. Greedy cow.

I know who should be paid the least on Corrie and that's Antony Cotton. He's dreadful! I'd say the actor playing Kirk would be on the least. He's just an occasional "comedy" character who doesn't really have stories of his own. He's mainly filler.

Do they count? They're extras. I thought about them then deleted it.

Source? I would have thought Steve McFadden and Danny Dyer would be the highest paid actors on Eastenders (at a guess).

Danny Dyer is apparently a high earner, which I don't agree with. Especially for someone who has only been on the show for 2 years. I believe he is making more money than those who have been on the show for much longer.

In terms of highest earners, it is probably Danny Dyer and Steve McFadden. I also think Gillian Taylforth, Letitia Dean, Adam Woodyatt, Laurie Brett and Kellie Bright are paid very well. June Brown's salary must be a lot less now because she rarely appears as Dot now

Rats, i was just about to say the child actors!

Logic would say that the younger, less experienced actors will be on the lowest rate as they don't have the proven history for their agents to demand more.

But then there is also the issue of episode count. I don't think they are all the same, but i believe on some of the soaps the contracts are worked out with a minimum number of episodes for which they are contracted - they will be paid for them whether they appear or not. But then, they are paid extra for each episode they appear in so the more they work, the more they earn. I know that is the case with Corrie as Shobna Gulati was saying that she was actually earning very little during most of her time due to her not appearing that much, but you can't go off and find other work in case they call you in.

The kid who plays Kamil should be paid more than most of the adults. So glad he is returning

It would depend on what was negotiated when he started though about 18 months ago though. If it was his first big job, he was unproven so probably on a low rate and it wouldn't necessarily get negotiated up just because he has proved competent so given more air time. He'll get paid for the increased episode count but probably not at a higher rate until such time as his whole contract comes up for renewal and his agent can renegotiate.

Whereas people like Freddie Jones and shirley Stelfox had very good reputations before joining so are likely to be paid a higher wage for each episode, even though they don't appear as much.

It's like any profession - somebody very experienced and valued can charge a higher rate per day (example 1.000 per day) than a younger, less experienced person who is maybe on 100 quid a day. Logic says the person on the lower rate will have to do 10 times as many hours in any year to make the same amount of money.

I'd be very surprised if June Brown is making less money than the actors playing the Carter kids for example, even though she appears far less.

On Friday and it's the same actor too

He was a truly fab little actor who always seemed to steal the scene whenever he was in it

Like kitkat1971 says, people with a low number of episodes are paid less. People like Steve McFadden would be on lucrative contracts, probably with a high rate per episode, and possibly a high number of guaranteed episodes as well. Perry Fenwick might be on a less lucrative contract with a low rate per episode and possibly a not very high number of guaranteed episodes either.

I'm not sure they are paid as much as we think, Steve McFadden does panto every year to boost his income for instance,

Neighbours stars get the least.... It's the soap with the smallest budget

Yes. I believe also in Neighbours, unlike the UK soaps, there isn't complete freedom with the number of episodes in which people appear. Everyone basically does two or three episodes in any week's five episodes. That's it. Even if someone like Paul Robinson or Karl Kennedy is in the middle of a major storyline, they are still on rotation and won't ever appear in all five episodes of one week. The show just can't afford it. If a regular character's storylines are dwindling to the point that they are in only six or seven episodes a month, well Neighbours also can't afford to keep paying their 'retainer' to do so little. That's why apparently important characters like Lucas were written out: the budget is tight so if they want to add a regular, someone needs to leave to make room for them.

There's one exception in Home and Away and that is that Ray Meagher's contract apparently allows him to appear in all five of a week's episodes.

I know the Highest Paid soap actors are William Roache (Ken Barlow) Barbara Knox (Rita) and Eileen Derbyshire (Emily Bishop) as they would still be paid under the old pay scale rules, they get around £250,000 a year.

Apparently some of the younger cast members only earn around £40,000 a year

I was kind of hoping that Rita was actually completely penniless. I would really enjoy that I think. Would serve her right for having a medicinal few gin and tonics of a lunch time and mowing down 12 pedestrians when she goes for a drive after.
