Quick question (for cwickham, or anyone else who feels knowledgeable enough to chip in!)

How do you divide Ballroom & Latin? (when preparing your stats, etc)

Differently to Ultimate Strictly, I presume?

Is there generally much disagreement/debate/etc regarding exactly which dances are Latin, Ballroom, or Speciality?

For info, Ultimate Strictly divides them thus:

15 dances, 3 categories, 5 dances in each:

Ballroom: Fox, QS, Tan, VW, W
Latin: CCC, Jive, Paso, Rum, Samba
Speciality: AS, AT, Charl, Salsa, Showdance

I think (though not entirely sure), that the Pros mostly only choreograph the Ballroom & Latin dances (as listed above). The "Speciality" ones are (usually, but not always?) choreographed by "others"/"outsiders"/"specialists"... whom, incidentally, occasionally get the odd "thanks" by a Celeb who's just danced... although I get the feeling this is not encouraged by the plebs in charge... perhaps they fear it may spoil the illusion, for all those viewers (yes, all 5 of them) who still think that the Pros gets to choose which dance they're doing each week, and what music they're dancing to, and what the theme will be, and what they'll be wearing, and what comments & quips they'll be making, and so on... But I digress...

Any thoughts on my original question? I'd welcome any input. Cheers
