Finally a samba roll
Really pleased to see Helen and Aliaz do a samba roll this evening, it's the one move that defines a samba for me.
I'm not a dancer, are they really that difficult? They look awesome when done well |

Me too, I love a samba roll. I probably couldn't do one if my life depended on it but I love seeing them in a samba.

I couldn't give a monkeys about the bounce, as I said I'm not a dancer. It's the roll that does it for me and its what I look for in every Strictly Samba.

Don't be so sure. Most things are easy (well, easy'ish!) when you know how - you just need the right teacher!

I missed the start of the dance and until the roll I thought they were doing a salsa

A samba roll isn't a proper samba roll for me unless
it is preceded by proper samba walks with a double bounce action. ![]() |

I get where you are coming from but you need to remember that most people who watch strictly don't have a clue about what you are saying.
![]() My only experience in seeing samba is 10 years of watching Strictly and ITT, but I know what I like and what looks good to me. ![]() I agree with you, it was great to see a samba roll. It just would have been better with some samba walks and double bounce

The samba bounce is bloody difficult and I can see why many consider it the hardest latin dance. Helen did a much better job than I was expecting!

When done well its by far my favourite Latin dance but usually its done terribly by the celebs, understandably given its difficulty.
