"Corrie": The Road to Perdition Or of Redemption for Alya (?)
MediaMatters
31-10-2015
Personally, not a fan of the turn they've taken for the promising young professional; or to have every female character personally "vetted" by Jason Grimshaw!

But alas! ... I presume it's to nurture the character on her continuous journey in the direction of "strong independent woman" schooled in the University of Hard Knocks!
So, what's the path to redemption for sweetly vulnerable Alya? Thought she was a bit too good for rough-around-the-edges Gary. Will he rekindle with Izzy after all? Will Gary finish what Callum started?! Shouldn't he?!?

** I'd suggest Alya just get back up & throw herself back into her work because she's been taking quite a bit of "holiday time" lately and the Connors might decide they've had enough!

I'd like Alya to find herself another job in another town - that London maybe - then tell Gary and her brother and grandparents to eff off.

If she stays on the cobbles I agree she should concentrate on her career - Underworld could be a stepping stone to better things.

Whatever happens she should have nothing more to do with Gary, even if he begs her to take him back. Telling her family like that was unforgiveable. I don't think she should forget how Yaz, Sharif and Zeedan were with her either, although she might have to seem ok so she can live with them rent free for a while.

Maybe Alya could become a super bitch??

Alya seems to have good business sense, I can see her doing well in that area. Striking out on her own in some way.

For starters, she needs to take responsibility for her actions and not blame it on Gary for not taking advantage of her and disrespecting her religion while she was grieving for her dad, also she was expecting sympathy and just running away, happily allowing her family to think badly of Gary for something she'd done instead of owning up to her actions.
Spoiler
I've seen a preview picture of Jason and Zeedan and it looks like they're all going to blame Jason for what happened (including Alya.)
No one forced her to get drunk and have sex out of wedlock, she wanted it and even though she was going through a difficult time when it happened and wasn't thinking clearly, she has to deal with the consequences herself.
