I think you need to look at the context of the comments. He has made himself look an idiot - not hard I know - by shouting from the rooftops that she's a fully qualified doctor when, in fact, she has only just finished her degree and has a long way to go until I'd let her operate on me.

What is it? Is it basically 'hating', but with an extra word added for no reason, or is it some special slang what the Internet kids are using nowadays? Can you 'love on' things too, or just 'hate on' them?

is she? i do get what youre saying if shes sharing in his fame moneywise by appearing i get that makes her a "celeb" but i just think of her as a celebs wife and dont really get the heavy remarks slaying her.

Having a degree means you can use the title doctor but it doesn't make you a doctor in any meaningful way. Having a brother who is a doctor, I know that the degree is the easy part and that she's got a huge amount of hard work ahead of her before she should be genuinely be calling herself a fully qualified doctor.

Absolutely. Especially as he was the one who was at pains to point out that she was a private person with a proper career and no connection to showbiz. Truly private people do not participate in reality television shows, sell their wedding or do endless photo shoots. He may have put her into the public eye, but she doesn't appear to have any problem with it at all.

To me, she is a now a fully fledged zeleb, which is rather baffling as PP claimed she was 'very private' even though she appeared in his RTV show. You could see her traipsing around gigs and personal appearances in the back of the people carrier. He also said one of the reasons for giving up the RTV show was because Emily was so private.

Because he puts everything out there? I've never seen any of his RTV shows but rather like Eastenders (which I don't watch either) I know most of the plot lines by osmosis.

Bit difficult to avoid him at the minute, though, as he's on a show I watch and there's no way of knowing when he's going to pop up through the ITT week on a segment. Besides, he's currently the comedy turn so watching him is worth it for that alone.

I mean, I've managed to quuite happily know absolutely nothing about Peter Andre's life since about 2007, if not earlier. The first time I saw Dr Mrs Emily Andre ever was when she appeared in Pete's VT. I appreciate a good celebrity snark as much as the next man but people acting like it's a moral imperative to know what Dr Mrs Emily Andre wore on the front of Grazia Magazine November 2014 and why it means she's not a real doctor coz she put herself in the spotlight therefore it's our duty to rip her to bits because she sold Katie Price's kids into white slavery or whatever are frankly kidding themselves.

I suspect it is more to do with how people perceive TPTB promote him as a contestant as being a bit of a catch. Particularly when people watch the show for a wide variety of reasons, possibly the least of which is the fame of the celebrities taking part.

Firstly, I'd like to point out that I too hate () the modern linguistic invention "hate on". Good. Got that out of the way.

However, I think people use it (and I'm not judging them in any way for it) (I totally am) to imply that someone is jumping on a dislike bandwagon. They don't actually hate the person/group/item/concept described but more they have distaste for it and are expressing this more vehemently than necessary because they have the support of other "haters" around them.

+ an intense dislike for the person, which leads them to be more vicious than they might usually be.
