There was no reverb or vocal enhancement for poor old Ben. I think he will be joining Steve Brookstein in the X factor retirement home soon. They will probably say that his live performance didn't help sales. I thought he looked really tired and older and his voice didn't sound great. Bet the fireworks will be out for Fleur though in a week or so.

Still manipulating the public X factor.....

Really like Ben but he did seem very quiet at the start and did look tired. He perked up though, even oh liked him by the end

I thought it was strange that they put him on tonight when there's two guest slots tomorrow and his single isn't even released until the 11th and not only that it had been a very long night for the viewer, many would have switched off. Seems like an attempt to bury him before he's even started. I thought he sounded terribly under rehearsed to be honest. I expect when Fleur comes on she'll get a good slot on the Sunday with her single coming out at the same time. I wonder if Andrea will even be allowed a performance?

He doesn't even look like the same person after the nose job.

People are still pushing the whole "Ben's being sabotaged for Fleur" thing? Lol.

He performed badly. It's a shame but it happened. Why would they manipulate the public against him when they're earning money from his sales?

I loved Ben last year but that performance was crap. Nothing new or original about him. Very very vanilla unfortunately.

It was the first time i have heard the track, but he sounded strangely different from what he did in the show last year.

Oh run along already

Kelly had to cancel all her remaining concerts and is on vocal rest under doctors orders from my understanding

He did just fine on own as he will continue to do

You said you only just heard his single last night but you've been having a go at him for weeks

Steve Brookstein the first ever x factor winner thinks Ben's Haenow's single delay might have cost him

I love Ben but I'm still not convinced this is the best single the songs good but he should be singing songs like Imagine Dragons etc and they give him a country pop single.
I am hoping they have some other better songs I just don't think Second Hand Heart was right song as a single.

It seems a wierd choice for the UK but it's picking up attention in the USA. It was one of Billboard's future hit predictions this week.

I do agree that it wasn't a great performance, Ben's voice sounded tired also the staging and backing track were awful.

I still like the track tho.

I know the track was specifically chosen for America? so I'm not sure if he's focusing on there first trying to crack america. X factor airs there even if the channel isn't as popular.
I thought when he'd perform he'd be releasing his album I hope he has another performance lined up on the results show. I was suprised he wasn't on tomorrow too.

Would imagine it will be over for Ben fairly quickly, the traditional X factor vote will have someone new to get behind and will have moved on

He looked and sounded kinda odd to me...and the song is also a duet so didn't really work for me as a solo performance.

Probably wasn't the best idea launching his career with a duet with Kelly Clarkson who is unlikely to be willing or able to do the necessary promotion at the best of times.

He felt shoehorned in at the last minute, which I think he basically was.

The song was originally written as a solo song it said somewhere then the team arranged for it to be a duet instead. It reminds of a OneRepublic song similar to his single.
I think it's also the backing track it's so loud it's drowning out Bens voice .

Thought he sounded really bad and looked embarrsased at the end. Why do a duet with Kelly Clarkson if she can't even appear on the show. The song is not good enough by itself and the only reason it even made top ten was cos of Kelly's fans.

No X factor have let him down, and he looked uncomfortable. He will be dropped soon, fancy giving him such a second rate song. He would look much better fronting a band.

I thought the song had a very dated sound to it. His voice wasn't all that great either. I love Kelly Clarkson but even she cannot save such a bland, forgettable song.

The X Factor winners are always let down by poor songs - this was the downfall of Leon, Shayne, Matt, Steve, Joe, Sam, James - I know none of these were great but they could've been better with proper songs.
