It should have been Hollaback. Do It Like A Dude is an AWFUL song. Horrible, like Jessie J's worst and THAT is saying something. Hollaback Girl would have been so good. They were great but that song was like a pair of cinder block boots.
Do It Like A Dude is a song Rihanna threw back in the faces of the songwriters cause it was so crap, which is the only reason Jessie ended up with it. Does anyone really want to hear it ever again?? Nope. Which is why Alien will be in the bottom.
The theme was This is Me, I didn't think it had to be British, pretty sure the Beach Boys, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Shaggy, Arianna Grande and Justin Bieber are all not British.
I don't think it was ever gonna be that either, it was like they were acting in the video clip but being British didn't have anything to do with it. Would've preferred Hollaback Girl to that cringey song. Plus Alien don't really seem that they'd even be into her stuff, they want to be seen as all original, risqué and cool. Why the heck would they want a Jessie J song, she's a bit cheesy no?
I'm probably the odd one out here but I actually really like Do It Like A Dude. It's different, quirky, and has attitude. Sure, no one can perform it like JJ but I thought Alien did a pretty decent job. They were up at the top this week, lots of so-called big-hitters which under-performed.
The reason I started the thread was because Simon has said twice - British song for a British band, then initially chose Hollaback girl which is American. I like the song, just highlighting that it was never going to be their song

there was a few references to "british-ness" last night and whilst i dont like them any way i was wondering if it was some sort of dig at 4th impact
