Carmels pussy (spoilers)
http://www.soapsquawk.co.uk/news/eas...ee.php#results
Poor cat gets stuck up a tree and Shirley has to rescue it. Sounds completely stupid. |

It utterly stupid, I don't get the cat and mouse games (no pun intended) with them sneaking around and the fact it has such a lengthy article dedicated to it says it all, must a slow news day at EE.
Did they not get the memo people are bored of theses stupid repetive scenes of Shirley and Mick, arguing, making up etc etc. we've had it for nearly a fricking year give it a rest ffs, is this all Shirley is worthy off, being the animal whisper! |

I personally enjoy Mick and Shirley scenes, and this scene with the cat is just a little bit of light humour however I do think that Linda Henry deserves better material. It's a shame though, because they can not fully develop a relationship with Dean around, or if Mick has anything to do with Ronnie vs Dean. Why doesn't Shirley want Dean to know that she is building bridges with Mick though? She looked genuinely worried about how he would react.

Looks like a riveting week (!)
Thank god Kathy and Gavin are making EE interesting again. Changing the topic slightly but it wouldn't surprise me if Linda's wedding day becomes all about Mick/Dean/Shirley. |

Me neither, Mick and Linda are supposed to have a strong marriage. I cannot believe Mick wants to jeopardise that trust by meeting Shirley. Besides which, Linda has never seem that bothered about Mick having a relationship with his mother.

Yep, I don't understand it either, Linda said in the past she doesn't mind him having a relationship with her she just didn't want Shirjley, near her which is understanble.

Sometimes I think even the writers forget what's gone on before. I will be glad when this storyline is over, when Dean is gone maybe the Carters can become a proper family unit again and they can forget the rape ever happened.
Yeah I think that is the case. It needs to be done, the storyline practically split the family side ways and just isolated characters and was overall just a really bad decision with the direction they took this storyline. |

I'd like to see Mick and Shirley building bridges but I dont think its right that its happening before Dean is out of the way.

I wonder how many takes this was done in? Basically how many times was the poor cat placed up the tree? The cat must be pretty easy going, "well behaved" and friendly to be used like that. I wouldn't want to traumatise my own cat like that for a TV programme
![]() Cue all the "lighten up" posts and "the cat won't mind"....the poor cat was probably completely bewildered why it's owner stuck it up a tree and probably more than once to get the take right ![]()

I hope the pussy wasn't traumatised after being manhandled by Shirley too.
![]() ![]() I suppose Linda Henry would have been given some time for the cat to get to know her. Shirley probably reeks of alcohol so for reasons of pretend yeah the cat would probably avoid her alky fag ash breath! |

It doesn't look like Shirley & Mick are arguing or making up. The only thing that annoys me about these scenes is that they are sneaking around and meeting up in secret. |
