Ross Kemp gave a very coy, casual football manager's style answer when asked about the rumours of a comeback. Either it's happening or he's been asked by EastEnders to be a bit vague to drum up the rumours (and thus publicity).

At least he's actually responded to the rumors but still no definite answer. I am beginning to wonder though if he'll return although it would probably only be at most 3 months maybe less due to other commitments.

Looks like he's returning . Can't wait for Grant, Kathy, Sharon and Phil to reunite . DTC said he wants to see the "Big Four" again.

Grant is probably back for a guest stint - Ross Kemp has so many projects at the moment.

I am not averse to a Grant return, but feel it's unfair of Barbara Windsor to threaten us all with a return alongside him. There's simply no need to spoil it like that

I do think its happening. Fact it won't go away means there is something in it and because his character is probably the second most famous male character the show ever had it would have always been impossible to keep a return secret until the day.

A guest stint would be good, it wet's everyone appetite then, it's long enough to get some satisfactory screen time but not long enough to bore everyone either.

I don't think a full return would ever work in the current climate as the vic was Grant home and centre point.

I don't think BW would ever let them forget if they got Grant back for a stint but not her.

I don't think a full return will ever happen anyway because of Ross's other commitments. A guest stint is all he'll be able to do.

When people say "i can't really say anything" that is normally showbiz code for "Yes i am coming back but i cant say as I have signed a contract permitting me for saying anything and if i do, i will get a bollocking"

I am certain he is coming back. If he wasn't, a simple No would of been said.

As i've said before, a Grant return for me would all depend on the SL's he was given. I dont want Grant back for Sharongate 2.0 and beating people up with Phil but if there are new stories to tell with the character then fair enough.

No Peggy thanks very much.

And there's me thinking that he was waiting for that extra 0 or two to be added to his fee.

Agreed. The very last thing I want to see is Grant with a Sharongate 2 borefest. If he does return I'd like him to be very happily married and return with his wife and they should stay together. As for Peggy I hated her before and I'll hate her again with her screeching harridan thing going on. Her always going on about "being a Mitchell" and "faaaaammillyyyyy" drove me mad. She was always living through her sons and got right up my nose. There are women like that of course but I don't want her on my TV!

It looks like he's coming back and obviously the press were tipped off with teasers. You're right if he wasn't coming back he would say "definitely not" rather than tease like that. He is returning to Eastenders that much is obvious.

I really don't know why DTC calls them the "Big Four". The bulk of Sharongate took place before Phil had even got together with Kathy. She just happened to be with Phil when it all came out. A "Big Three and a half" maybe.

I agree completely. I think some people on here would be over the moon if the Eastenders 1980s episodes were repeated on BBC3. I don't want any more returns and I don't like the way DTC seems to be stuck in the past either. I think some people are nostalgic for their youth and like the 1980s characters and stories for that reason and see the 1980s Eastenders through rose tinted glasses.

His normal response is usually never say never. Ross has always been very respectful when talking about EastEnders. Its starting look like he could come back. If he wasn't he'd have said he's too busy at the moment.

The obsession with the past is getting eastenders poor press and the show is seen as a bit of a joke sadly

Grant returning at the end of the Christmas Eve episode would be brilliant and get people talking even more for the Christmas day Ep.

Why would the character, Grant, want to return? If he does return I can't imagine it would be for more than say a couple of months. What would there be in Walford Square that would attract him back given that the Queen Vic Pub is firmly in the hands of the Carters ... and Grant back in charge of the Queen Vic would be a backward step for EE going forward.

Apparently he's returning for Phil when his drinking gets worse.
