Music - Again!
I know this is said all the time but some of the music choices are unbelievable.
For me, 2 stand out last night. Firstly, to me, Ghostbusters is not suitable for a tango. Ok maybe the tempo is ok but the actual song makes it seem silly. The worst though, and I still can't believe the choice, was the music for Carol's rumba. Now isn't the rumba a sexy dance, the dance of love? So surely the music or song should be sexy? So what do they choose - an upbeat song sung by a family! Oh yes because it is such a sexy song. Whoever chooses the music should be sacked or shot or both |

They don't make it easy for anyone .. though some have come through relatively unscathed .. so far!
Hats off to the pros for often making it work. They must despair .. though Brendan chose his unsuitable paso song so possibly the pros are equally to blame for the dire choices! |

The biggest accolade should go to Dave Arch, the musicians and singers.
They must be shaking their heads when they see some of the crap music with which they have to contend, but like true professionals, they just get on with it and make a good job of it. |

If last night has taught us anything, it's that you can't stick trumpets over Lady Gaga and call it jazz.

I thought the band and singers did a cracking job with all the tunes last night and a huge well done to all of them, they never fail to deliver IMO and they are amazing
however the music mostly didn't suit the dances - sadly |

I think producers use music as a way of influencing who stays or leaves.....
"Make them struggle with an unsuitable song for the dance." |

The only good music this series was for Katie and Anton's Tango.

Georgia danced it good, and Giovanni did a good choreography for a non-tango song.
you can say it are wrong song choices, but it's just thinking outside the comfort zone. I quite like "different" sorts of music for dances but, to me, Ghostbusters is never going to be tango music. Carol's rumba was awful but I would like to see anyone dance a sexy dance to the Partridge Family! |

Don't get me wrong, I really liked Georgia and Giovanni's tango but I know I would have enjoyed it more had it been to more appropriate tango music.

Georgia showed us a proper tango, maybe the music could've been better, but her shapings and turns were quite good ( i would get dizzy in those turns). ![]() and Carol's Rumba was a disaster, a 4 was too high for her. but i'm glad you liked Georgia's Tango

While we're on the subject of music for the hallowe'en special, can anyone tell me ...
a) What song/musical was being portrayed by Anita Rani & Gleb Savchenko - it was a great routine but I didn't know what it was all about. b) And pretty much ditto for Peter Andre & Janette Manrara - didn't recognise the music at all (didn't think much to their routine either) Enjoyment is greatly enhanced if the music is familiar and, to be fair, I'm nearly always right up there with the choices. I've still got my recording of last night's dances, so I'll watch again as soon as I've seen answers to the above! |

Dear BBC
The "Timewarp" is a specific dance that has specific moves.
You can't just do some other dance to to it just because you like the tune. Now buck up! |

Hadn't heard it before but I thought Little Red Riding Hood was the highlight of the show. They couldn't have had a better piece of music. I think for some people if they don't know the music it is automatically no good.

a) well, Anita was Maleficent and Gleb was the King/Prince - Maleficent is the wicked queen in Sleeping Beauty (Im sure you know the story) which has recently been made into a movie with Angeline Jolie playing Maleficent - the song was by Lana Del Ray and I dont think it was in the movie
b) no clue - sorry! ![]() (It's a slowed down, darker, take on the version used in the original Disney movie) |

The song was "Once Upon a Dream" aka "The Sleeping Beauty Waltz". Definitely from the film

Anyone from my era will be very familiar with Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, who in 1965 had a world wide hit with a song called Wooly Bully. In 1966 they had another major hit with Li'l Red Riding Hood. Everybody bought a copy and played it to death at all the parties! It was great to hear it again on Saturday night. |

This show covers all age ranges, doesn't it! Personally I wouldn't know a Lady Gaga song if I heard it! Which couple danced to that one?

Blimey, I didn't think I'd had that much trouble with the music this week .. seems I'm mistaken!
Help, someone (again) .... who danced Time Warp and where's it from? Peter and Janette danced to Ghost by Ella Henderson. Peter was a ghost, apparently a fairly generic one, he wasn't a specific character. |

That was Kirsty and Brendan's charleston music ( but I only know it was lady gaga because my 15 year old told me).

I know the story of Sleeping Beauty of course, but I really can't remember a character called Maleficient, sorry. Don't know Lana del Ray either!
But thanks anyway! Anyone care to pitch in with what it was that Peter Andre and Janette Manrara were dancing to? the "live action" version is a very recent film, 2014 I think, its its based purely on Maleficent
