IF - a big if - the PTB intended to sabotage Carol then it backfired as I've come across a few people who voted for her because they thought the music wasn't fair.

Not sure the PTB did it on purpose though, what would be the point?

(Though I Think I Love You was the very worse choice ever for a Rumba, I did like the song - took me back to my youth. But it should have been used for something else.)

I know this is said all the time but some of the music choices are unbelievable.

For me, 2 stand out last night. Firstly, to me, Ghostbusters is not suitable for a tango. Ok maybe the tempo is ok but the actual song makes it seem silly.

The worst though, and I still can't believe the choice, was the music for Carol's rumba. Now isn't the rumba a sexy dance, the dance of love? So surely the music or song should be sexy? So what do they choose - an upbeat song sung by a family! Oh yes because it is such a sexy song.

Whoever chooses the music should be sacked or shot or both
for me its not always the choice of song , but how the singers perform them ,
the last dance was cringe worthy , they ruined ghost town !!!

more singers needed for the variety of music in strictly

The LadyGaGa cover was dire.

no problem, in the Disney version she might have just been called the Wicked Queen but my memory isnt great, its been a while since I watched the Disney version the "live action" version is a very recent film, 2014 I think, its its based purely on Maleficent
I haven't seen the new film but she is called Maleficent in the Disney version. Which is where they got the name for the new film

Once Upon a Dream is a beautiful song though I'll admit to not hearing Lana del Ray sing it.

I know the story of Sleeping Beauty of course, but I really can't remember a character called Maleficient, sorry. Don't know Lana del Ray either!

But thanks anyway!

Anyone care to pitch in with what it was that Peter Andre and Janette Manrara were dancing to?
Janette has just explained it on ITT - not sure if you are watching but its something to do with Peter being a ghost and apparently she was a woodland creature who was trying to escape something.........

I think - that makes no sense - sorry, I was only half listening

[quote=SepangBlue;80206389]While we're on the subject of music for the hallowe'en special, can anyone tell me ...

a) What song/musical was being portrayed by Anita Rani & Gleb Savchenko - it was a great routine but I didn't know what it was all about.

The music is from the Sleeping Beauty Ballet and was written by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1889.

Due to both my age and being a West Bromwich Albion supporter I only personally know Go West to be more of a football related song.

I Think I Love You has quite an odd, spooky intro for a pop song. I think that's where the idea came from.

It's a show for all the family that a lot of people enjoy because it has the fun element, it doesn't require sexing up.

Georgia and Giovanni did a really enjoyable Tango, the song has a dark undercurrent, they are the youngest couple and may have younger fans who can sing/move along to the Ghostbusters shout out even if they are not old enough to see the films.

It was a lovely theme and dance that Pasha choreographed for Carol, I dread to imagine your suggestions for what their theme should be, sounds like your after some tawdry Channel 5 'Age Gap Love' theme, next you'll be complaining Jeremy isn't rubbing against Karen enough and Ann Widdecombe didn't do enough hip thrusting. Sure-fire way to alienate all of Carol's fans.

Watching ITT last night I got the impression (hopefully wrong) that Mysterious Girl and Insomnia are to be inflicted upon us this Saturday.

Elsewhere I've been told their characterisation and dance sequence was taken from Wicked .. so the routine would appear to have been a right old mix of ancient and modern. It seemed to work OK though - I liked the theatricality of the choreography.

They would be fairly elderly children - Ghostbusters was released in 1984.

No, I'm the one confused! Zoe Ball played clips from his two 'hits' and having heard the appalling noise that is Insomnia for the first time must have misheard what she said after, or perhaps she was joking.
