The first thing to say is this clearly did happen, as the men were caught and sent to prison.

Also, 'My father's dead' which was a line she used to get sympathy from someone she was negotiating with in one of the tasks, is also confirmed to be true.

To make it clear- I wouldn't wish the attack on anyone, but it does feel like she is using The Apprentice for maximum publicity to kick start a media career. She is the one feeding stories to the press- none of the other 17 candidates seem to be trying to keep themselves so high profile.

Without knowing any of this I have found her from day one to be unlikeable and I am not sure why.

Regardless of anything in her past, I think she is a thoroughly unpleasant person.

She is arrogant and behaves like a petulant teenager.

The sooner her five minutes of fame is over the better IMO.

Obviously I have deepest sympathies and it's an awful thing to happen, but she really does just want to be into the press every minute of the day. The sooner she's gone from the process the better.

Without wanting to take anything away from her story (because it really is awful) wtf is with the accompanying pictures?? It's like what you would see in a Daily Mail article on how her family starved because the asda delivery truck didn't turn up, not gang rape. They're just not necessary.

I feel sorry about what happened to her, but I can't help feeling that The Apprentice isn't the place for her.

She gets top marks for self publicity, but fails to inspire any confidence in regards to business (unless her proposal is a PR firm, in which case, well played).

Her previous behaviour and press attention means this looks totally like a way to keep her name in the papers rather than anything else.

Same here, it's because she comes across as really bitchy.

I have sympathy for anyone who has to endure an awful attack but why is she publishing it in the press now? It does smack a bit of making money out of it while she can.

She's used it to get sympathy, but are we are hard hearted enough to say she doesn't deserve any?

We should at least admire her for reporting it and securing convictions.

I feel sorry for her. Perhaps she doesn't help herself but I'm uneasy about people becoming media hate figures and the rape was obviously a horrific experience.

Truly, truly horrific ordeal. And I imagine it has to have impacted on Selina in a very negative way. It might make me understand why she behaves in the way she does, but at the same time, it can't fully excuse said behaviour.

This is shocking and sad. To all those continuing to slate her and saying this is 'cashing in,' it's actually very brave of her to make this public. At least she's drawing attention to an important issue. So what if she was paid? People get paid for all sorts of tripe in the papers. The Apprentice isn't decided by public vote so saying it is an appeal for sympathy is just throwing sh!t for the sake of it.

But this is where that programme is flawed because Sugar just has his favourites and always has ( and will ).

I agree with every word you have posted - but I think she is here for a while because she is liked by the people who matter.

I know that Ruth would go at the first available opportunity because she does not have the right image - and although she had done quite well in other tasks she never received any credit.

So although there is no doubt in my mind that Selina should have been fired that was never going to happen. As soon as Ruth was brought back in I know she was gone - and the reason he gave was poor also given she sold well in other tasks.

In fairness this story makes a change from the usual horror stories the Daily Mail and others run about Dubai where people claim the police arrest the rape victims and never do anything about the perpetrators.

I hope there isn't a sex tape of that.. awful rich men thinking they can have any women they want.. yet if you go over there as a couple and want to candoodle, kiss etc they soon lock you up.. it is wrong.

They weren't rich, she said it was a squalid bedsit and they're being deported back to Iran when their jail sentence ends. They were migrant workers probably.

And yes public displays of affection are a no-no. Which to be honest I'm down with, I hate nothing more than seeing people eat the face of each other in public.

Shouldnt have taken a fee for the interview, it should have been donated to a rape victim charity

After she tried and failed to attack the show she's gone down the sympathy route just like Katie Hopkins when her controversial comments backfired and people turned against her. These scumbags will try anything to stay relevant. Have these people no shame.

I hope for your sake you're never gang-raped and have to deal with such an ordeal. Sure, dislike a person based on their TV persona but to attack someone for bringing attention to such a serious issue is odd to say the least. Probably deserved it though eh, because she's made a few horrible faces and catty comments on TV.

I never said she deserved. Don't twist what I said. It just seems weird that she has mentioned this after all her other attempts to become a 'celebrity' backfired. We've seen people like her who go down the sympathy route when everything else fails.

So if she revealed her ordeal before the bad press, that would have been ok? Even if she started acting up? Would the pre-existing rape victim tag have made a difference?

Yes it would have been ok because at least then we know she revealed it for other reasons other than trying to become the next ex Apprentice rent a gob contestant. She was paid for disclosing this story so there is only one reason she did it. Tacky. And has probably done more harm than good for people who have experienced the same or a similar ordeal.

Tell us how it's done more harm then? And try not to let a clear bitterness cloud your argument, ta.

Because people will think "oh hello, here we go again" when another person comes forward who has suffered a terrible ordeal like this. It plants a seed of doubt in some peoples minds when people sell their stories to the press like this. If she was so altruistic about revealing her story like this then she should have done it for free.

You're stretching for arguments now. People sell these stories to gossip magazines, real-life magazines all the time, it;s just that they aren't figures in the public eye. You seriously think that highlighting a problem would make people go, 'Na, I'll leave telling anyone else because that woman I don't like did that one time'? You're talking absolute nonsense.

I don't care whether or not she got a fee, you're sole intention coming to this post was to vilify her off the back of hearing she'd been gang raped. I don't know what's wrong with people sometimes.
