You're stretching for arguments now. People sell these stories to gossip magazines, real-life magazines all the time, it;s just that they aren't figures in the public eye. You seriously think that highlighting a problem would make people go, 'Na, I'll leave telling anyone else because that woman I don't like did that one time'? You're talking absolute nonsense.
I don't care whether or not she got a fee, you're sole intention coming to this post was to vilify her off the back of hearing she'd been gang raped. I don't know what's wrong with people sometimes. |

Awful experience indeed, my heart goes out to her. Cannot fathom what kind of life long trauma such an experience causes, and she is very brave to share it.
And yes, it does explain her behaviour, it's not like she's committed a crime, she just comes across as quite angry and why shouldn't she be after suffering such a misfortune. I hope she gets the continued care and therapy to help her heal. |

In fairness this story makes a change from the usual horror stories the Daily Mail and others run about Dubai where people claim the police arrest the rape victims and never do anything about the perpetrators.

Shouldnt have taken a fee for the interview, it should have been donated to a rape victim charity
You may as well argue that newspapers should donate all their profits to any cause that they report on. |

There's nothing wrong with me. There's something wrong with people like her selling stories to the press like this and probably harming other victims chances of being taken seriously in future. She claimed to have post traumatic stress and anxiety disorder yet chose to go on a very stressful reality show. Give me a break.
You seem to be saying rape victims defo should not dare appear in the public eye or engage in challenging environments. They should also defo not talk about their abuse. Why is that? |

Yes, take the moral highground on a rape victim for being greedy.
You may as well argue that newspapers should donate all their profits to any cause that they report on. I stand by my view that she shouldn't profit from her ordeal via the press, absolutely, she deserves compensation from the perpetrators of the crime, but there is something ethically wrong with being paid for retelling such a horrific thing in order for a tabloid to sell papers. |

Oh no, she's sending out the message that rape victims can report cases, get a successful conviction, and then move on and lead their lives how they want to.

Are you sure you're not mixing up Dubai and Saudi Arabia? Dubai has an extremely low crime rate (less than 5%) and part of this is because the law is enforced very strictly. I haven't heard of rape being prevalent in Dubai, nor rape conviction rates being low. I think that's the UK actually!

Regardless of anything in her past, I think she is a thoroughly unpleasant person.
She is arrogant and behaves like a petulant teenager. The sooner her five minutes of fame is over the better IMO. |

She's recently been in the papers claiming Brett was eyeing her up and "creeping her out" even though he effectively didn't do anything. She said he's been vocal on twitter because she didn't acknowledge "his advances". Blimey, remind me not to look at a woman ever again in case they think I'm trying to make a move.
Not saying this original ordeal didn't happen, but she very clearly has a victim-complex and is looking to talk about anything in a bid to stay relevant now. |
