X Factor Production values - a sign of the end?

Whilst the X Factor undoubtedly costs a lot of money to produce and is one of the most expensive shows on TV, is the fact that we have not seen a makeover of the show this year a sign that ITV are letting it run its course.

The Auditions, SIx Chair Challenge have all used the same visual look and setup as in the past few years.

The original Judges house plans were scrapped due to logistical issues (ie. Money).

The live shows - We are still seeing the same set that's been in use since 2009 (2004,5,6 all featured a totally new set), whilst still visually stunning, it contributes to the feeling of same old same old. A new judges desk would sure go a long way, the current one is a horrible uninspired design.

Simon Cowell keeps mentioning each year how its a new look etc but we never seem to see that reflected. Whilst a new set would not solve all of the shows problems it would go along way to give the show a new feel and help it shake off the ghosts of the past.

Is this a sign that ITV are not willing to invest in the show the same as it once did.

The staging and visual's for Mason's performance were like something a primary school child had done on powerpoint.

I've noticed this year that there have been minor but very numerous production errors - like Olly coming in too early, the weird sound when Cheryl was speaking at one point

I think it's cause the schedule was messed up this year I'm sure it'll be back next year on it's original schedule.

Yesterday was a disappointment for me. Everything is rushed, even the backing track sounds like in fast tempo, except Louisa's. She was able to hit every note as it supposed to be without the help of autotune, supporting backing vocals but lack emotions

It was a lot noticeable in Anton's performance - he usually take time, short pauses etc to tell the story and he benefited from live accompaniments. Same goes to many acts. Except Monica none of them related to the song.

A whole overhaul of the set is not what is necessarily required either: Take for example the XFUSA season 3 set:

Whilst Fountain Studios is not quite big enough to replicate this exactly, it can be done as per the 2004 set that the X Factor had. It also shows that the wall/screen portions could be kept with just the stage being changed.

This was the best X Factor set ever.

When will people realise how much it is all rigged to either promote or derail. This year it is so much more obvious though. Wake up people!
