The Overs were abysmal

I quite liked Anton during the auditions but he was so dated last night.

Max was terrible, and the least said about Bupsi the better.

How on earth can Simon justify not putting Jennifer through?

Max and Anton were great, Bupsi's problem was that she felt very dated.

Max's reggae version of the Adele song was one of the worst i have ever seen. Surely he will be in the bottom 2 if the public have any sense. Bupsi's song was very dated but she will probably stay cos of her catchphrase and Anton looked like a grinning idiot. His version of Dance with my father was no-where near as good as Joe Mcelderry's when he was on the show.

They are definitely doing everything they can to avoid a over winning.
Anton was good and Max why did they switch it up with reggae if it was without the reggae it might've been better.

They were all dreadful for different reasons.

Max - I can't understand why he didn't just say no to the song choice as it was a bloody dreadful idea. I know Cowell loves a bit of cod reggae - see Olly Murs - but for the love of God, that was just insane.

Anton - I love his voice but that wasn't good last night. He sounded out of tune at times and he looked terrified.
He needs to stop with the Luther tribute act as his voice will always come up short compared to one of the most effortlessly perfect voices of all time

Bupsi - Benidorm Tina Turner tribute act. So out of her depth, it ain't funny. Definitely the one most likely to end up in the jungle or Big Brother house

I thought Anton was one of the better performers last night, calling it dated doesn't really mean a whole lot when you have a young woman like Lauren singing one of Whitney's cheesiest songs.

But yeah it's clear what's happening with the overs, they were intentionally picked to guarantee that they wouldn't be winning.

Prepare yourself. It's every bit as bad as you can imagine

Well I thought Anton and Max did very well tbh! Antons vocals are incredible and there is an adult contemporary market who would love his vocals! Max Has an authentic recording vocal also!

I think Max's problem may well be that after all the ridiculous shenanigans with whether he was in or out over the last two stages he's probably just too grateful to be there. I suspect his gut instinct may well have been 'this isn't going to work' but he may well be deferring to Simon too much.

Max's song choice / style of singing was but he can sing and I definitely want to see more of him. Anton was Anton to me, he sang well and the song suited him. He isn't my cup of tea but his voice is one of the best on the show.

Bupsi though is just all kinds of awful but then I really didn't like Lauren, Kiera or Ronnie and Reggie

Let's face it there were some awful performances last night and the overs were by no means the worst.

I think Simon's reaction when he found out he had the overs pretty much said it all. He knows he's got no chance so he really doesn't care. Both Max and Bupsi had poor song choices. Maybe Simon wants shot of them asap so he can just put his feet up and watch the other contestants.

I thought Max's vocal last night was great, it was just the arrangement didn't match the lyric which caused a bit of a disconnect.

I think Anton is an incredible singer and when I saw his song choice I thought it was going to be a perfect match, but although he was good I think nerves got the better of him a bit.

Bupsi had a rubbish song choice and isn't a great singer.

Overall I'd say the overs were the poorest category, but I think saying all 3 of them were abysmal is a bit unfair.

Anton was fantastic and got 3/5 of my app votes.

I loved the reggae version of Adele's song, but then I'm not overly familiar with the original. I'm not keen on Max as a performer, and his vocal wasn't great in the first half.

Bupsi is very likeable as a person, but I don't really rate her much as a singer.

On the whole, I thought the overs did fairly well. For me, it was the girls who were all too similar.

Ebru, Jennifer or Kerianne would've been so much better.

As a big Anton fan, I was very disappointed. He didn't sing the song properly, and he was out of time and tune. He looked confused as to when he should reign in and then deliver

Sad thing is, he would have had a chance had he put through Jennifer and Ebru.

I agree. I've liked him up to now and was really looking forward to his performance but it was all wrong.
The song should have been well within his comfort zone - he must have sung it a million times - but he was all over the place.

The overs were stitched up last night. Just dated and poor song choices. Why didn't Simon pick Ebru and Jennifer( both could have won? ? Just crazy! Max is boring.

I really like Max. He has a great voice. Simon has no idea what to do with him. Simon has no idea about picking songs to suit the person. He picks the same stuff all the time. Adele is popular so he gives out an Adele song. Has he not noticed the difference in styles between the two singers? This is where simon let's himself down. He is not interested in the slightest in originality. The very idea of the themes shows that. Every ody sing Abba this week. Next week everybody sing Michael Jackson. Originality is just not encouraged.

Having said that, if the themes weren't there it would be everybody singing Adele every week.

I agree with your last remark. It was unbelievable leaving her out. What about the others in his category. Far better than Bupsi. It's almost as if he doesn't care. As for Max I thought was good and very current. Agree about Anton being dated. Simon should know better he's been in the business long enough.
