This has happened on idol before. I think it would be good to pair the contestants together and get them to sing a duet as a theme. Possible a quarter final week would be good for this!

I think it would be a refreshing and interesting theme to do

iirc when they did it on AI it was when there were fewer acts left and it was as a second song rather than it being a theme as such

I think thats a fantastic idea OP I loved when they did it on Idol, you really got to see another side of the contestants. Hopefully producers read this forum and steal your idea!!

And OP you have reminded me of the best duet ever from Idol Casey and Hayley, doubt we will see similar standard on XFactor if they did bring them in but heres hoping!

Thanks, marsha! So many of today's biggest records are duets would be a welcome addition to the show IMO

I actually think this could be a great idea and most of the acts left did great in the group challenge round.

It would have been a good theme for one of the first weeks, get the audience to pair them up - then vote for them in pairs so the bottom two are the weakest duet partners.. Add some tension
