I like louisa... but like the other poster here said... she could end up like ella... she need to sing more current next week I mean current-current not changing it to ballad style... like ella been doing week in week out.

I suppose it will depend on what the theme of next week's show will be, have they said what it will be yet?

I find her a bit dull. Good singer with a huge pair of lungs on her but she has no idea how to use her voice...no tone, no light and shade, no control just shouts. Also she hasn't shown any identity as an artist whatsoever so far. She's 17 years old but everything she has sung so far has been old. She hasn't showed that she could fit into the music industry.
I agree. I think she's got a lot of potential but she needs to find her identity and singing 50 year old songs turned into power ballads isn't the right road imo.

I never get why they get these streetwise, sparky kids and turn them into middle aged cruise ship performers.

might be completely wrong here but I reckon that's what they think they need to compete with strictly

I do feel unfortunately a lot of the voters vote for the song especially withwhat is perceived to be the voting audience nowadays .

The likes of Christopher Maloney , sam Bailey sung golden oldies , as others have said I do think they play to what is left of the audience and what they are comfortable with.

Alien and Kiera sang recent songs and look what happened

From the information on your link there is no mention of max,
He's showing on there now at 28/1, Louisa still clear favourite at 5/4.

Yep this pretty much sums up my feelings on her so far as well. She has all the tools at her disposal but doesn't yet seem to know how to bring them all together with nuance - like a painter with with all the colours on the palette but who paints a flat pink face because, well, 'flesh is pink, innit'.

It will be interesting to see how she progresses and as someone has pointed out there are comparisons to be made with Ella, and Ella started out brilliantly but got really dull singing the same bastardised ballad versions week after week. If she doesn't change it up a bit she could well be a shock exit. Additionally I don't think the GBP particularly likes being told someone is a star when they're not quite there yet, so the over-praise from Cowell could become grating and could well do her more of a disservice ultimately.

But what music is she going to release? So far she has shown no identity.

Louisa fully deserves to be favourite (she's fave by a huge margin too, no one else is even close in the odds). Easily in the top 3 singers (with Che and 4th Impact) and being very young, English and attractive gives her appeal over a very broad audience.

Absolute certainty for the final in my opinion. As others have said though, much depends on the songs she's given and X Factor has ruined many an artist that looked brilliant up till the live shows.

Her first live show was drab and if she's going to sing old stuff, she needs to make it more uptempo. Came across way too old fashioned. But she's only going to get better and I think it's never a bad thing to save your best performances till later in the competition and "grow" as an artist. Some singers start well and have nowhere to go - they remain consistent but never have that surprise "wow" factor (Andrea last year being a prime example).

Some have mentioned Ella but she only went out because she was up against James Arthur in the bottom 2 - anyone else and she'd have stayed in, got the rebound vote and then gone on to win easily. Chances of a bottom 2 that strong are tiny. And I don't think it was song choice that put Ella bottom of the voting, it was complacency as voters saved others who they felt were more likely to need the votes.

They're bigging her up too early. We've seen it time and time again, if she doesn't show any vulnerability and keeps being "perfect" people will stop voting for her and she'll crash out. Shame because her voice is seriously impressive.

I'm not sure they're bigging her up too early as she's been showing how good she is but her fans and those that want her to win can't afford to be complacent. They must keep backing her all the way if they want her to win. I was really impressed by her performance Saturday and she's definitely my fave this year after Saturdays performance. Yes she will need to shake things up a bit from time to time and she's more than capable of it and I think she will when required. Admittedly there are less live shows for the acts to work with this year but as the judges have said if she keeps working at it and she doesn't get complacent she's in the best position to grab the win. It's more I think that neither she or her fans can afford to get complacent. Otherwise yes she could end up being a surprise exit at some point.

Louisa is one of the strongest contestants there has been for a long time, and i doubt if it will matter what position she finishes as she is bound to be signed up.

Yeah I hope she is as well as she's showing a lot of potential. I don't think she's the finished product yet but of the acts in this years competition I think she's the closest to being able to produce what the music industry needs. She just needs experience of preforming live and doing her thing on stage which is what for me she will get most out of being on XF

A few things. I was out in Ibiza over the summer and Ella seemed to be doing OK for herself.

I understood Louisa has already signed with SyCo and so winning only allows her to get to market quicker. Coming 2nd, 3rd etc. doesn't ruin much. As for the song choices, it's more about getting her name out in the public domain and recognized. You have to remember that even the top names in the business started by covering songs before they got to make their own mark and even then most of their songs are written and scored by whole armies of individuals.

I see her as a Leona, if slightly a bit more streetwise; which ain't a bad thing.

I think there's two different ways people are looking at Louisa (or any contestant). How far they will go in the X Factor and how far they will go afterwards. I don't think anyone is saying Ella is doing badly now, they are just comparing her time on the X Factor with Louisa's (both very young, female, huge faves from the first show) and wondering if she'll also bomb out early.

Those who say she won't have a career afterwards, regardless of where she finishes, are very naive though. She will 100% be making records whatever happens, just as Ella is. She's a rough diamond and people will be queuing up to polish her.

People get too caught up in the present and what someone is like now. What makes people like Cowell successful is the ability to see potential: what someone can be like in future. Louisa is 17 and hugely marketable - the potential is almost unlimited.

Louisa won't win I don't think, she's just too shouty I think, plus like with Kiera I think that there will be a lot of people that will have it out for her out of pure jealousy, no matter how Louisa performs.

I don't think she will win either, she might be hot favourite with the bookies now but i'm sure it will change over the next few weeks.

The bookies have Louisa as favourite to win after the first win with Bupsi the least likely at a whopping 200/1. The odds changed a lot after the show so will be interesting how they change again after tonight's show. The latest odds from sky can be found here => https://www.skybet.com/tv-and-film-specials/x-factor
Che is a close second at 4/1 but think he will be favourite after that performance!

Will post latest odds after tonight's show has finished.

A few changes after tonight's performances but Louisa is still favourite closely followed by Che.

Stuck a fiver on Che after tonight's performance, currently at 4/1 to win which I think is pretty good odds at this stage based on how he has sung so far!

Looks like a lot of money being put on Che, odds have just shortened to 7/2. He could well be favourite to win by tonight's night show!

Odds on Che have shortened again, now at 10/3. He's the only one that has changed so looks like a lot being put on him.
