A couple of small observations

Is it just me, or did the audience last night seem to make their feelings about a dance more noticeable with their after dance applause? I couple of times I felt they stopped clapping quite quickly, even before the celebrity got to Tess. And the standing ovations were a lot more obvious than the usual ones for each and every dance due to the fact only a few contestants received them.

Also, Jamelia? How did she get such high scores? I mean I went into this series not having any opinion of her at all. I hadn't seen any of her recent work and only recognised the name from her songs when I was younger. But her constant giggling is starting to grate a little and her Jive last night was terrible, and yet she got good scores and none of the Judges commented about how it lacked energy and she was a little off time in places. As I listened to them I was wondering if they had watched an entirely different dance to the one I saw. Compared to other Jives seen so far this series hers was one of the worst I felt.

I think Jamelia got a high score because imo she is pregnant - and they feel the need to overcompensate in case she gets upset. Just my opinion.

I was appalled at the first few dances, to be honest (sorry, Katie!). But Jamelia couldn't even manage to get one of my fave dances (The Timewarp element of their Jive) right and everyone can do that!!!!

It was a bad night all round really, with only two or three standouts. I love Kellie but I didn't even enjoy her routine...

Hopefully back to normal next week ...

Yes I particularly noticed the audience reaction in the pro dance. Whenever the pros did some recognizable dance steps, instead of just formation choreography, the audience noticed and applauded wildly. Hopefully the producers will notice what is appreciated and what is not.

Jamelia's dance looked very average in every respect and received average marks. She was in about the right position on the leader board too.

OP I thought everyone knew by now all the cheering, clapping, standing up is controlled by the floor managers through the producer or her lacky . The audience have to do what they're told otherwise they get threatened by the floor managers .

Threatened with what? Imprisonment? Water-boarding? Cake or death?

Or maybe the aftermath of Peter saying ' Can I just Say Something ....' Now hat would be a suitable punishment

I would be curious to know what a paying audience can be threatened with if they don't applaud on time too. Very curious to know And even if they are told to clap I am sure they aren't told when to stop surely.

After watching the results show tonight it seems Jamelia has finally figured it out and kudos to her for just saying what every contestant must feel at some point, that the public just don't like you. She has survived three dance offs now (and I was really surprised Carole wasn't in there tonight) but after stating how she feels maybe she has annoyed those who actually are voting for her? Wouldn't be surprised to see her in the bottom two again next week now because of that.

They're not a paying audience for starters

LOL, fair enough, although they do pay the TV license I expect and that is money in the BBC's pockets so in a way ...

I've been very fortunate to be in the live audience twice in 2011 & 2013. I can assure you that the floor managers did not direct the audience when to clap, stand-up or sit down. The warm-up guy asked the audience to show their enthusiasm and to boo when the judges say nasty things but that was it. Some sections of the audience are not allowed to stand because of the cameras. With it being live, the floor managers just have to go with the audience, whatever the reaction.

It's not conspiracy theory but fact . Lots of people who have been to the live shows have posted on here that they were intimidated by the floor managers into clapping and cheering .

Nonsense, imo . I think being thrown around like a sack of spuds week after week (not to mention rehearsals) much more detrimental to an early pregnancy than a few harsh words .

I suspect that some of the cheering is dubbed on somehow - it's just too precise.

There's some dance move and then instant cheering, which just as quickly subsides. Even with prompts I can't envisage the audience reacting like this.

Also, at such times audience members appear much less animated than they ought to.

Maybe its just me but I have my suspicions.

That's bullying behaviour from them.

Its funny people should mention Jamelia being pregnant because my wife mentioned to me last night how the girl seems to have put on a little weight around her waist since we first saw her rather than lose it as most others do.

I'm no Doctor, but I would assume ladies don't start to show that fast or in that area, but I checked Jamelia out on the results show and I had to agree, she does look a little wider in the waist than I remember, lol.

I thought her legs looked bigger last night too but maybe she was in lower heels than usual

Perhaps if she is pregnant it would explain her lateness for training etc.,

Another rumour. Do you think she would be doing fast dances if she was pregnant? Have you evidence that she is pregnant. She just happens to be a healthy girl,

Just because your pregnant doesn't stop you from doing fast dances 🤔 Your pregnant not I'll 😏 Don't think she's pregnant though 🙄

Well, it probably means nothing, but the way Jamelia has her hands on top of her own stomach at the beginning of this clip is the way pregnant women will often do:
